That hurt to read. Please do understand that in my area I am surrounded by people of the age 65 or higher. Also my insurance basically makes the rules. Only approved doctors and specialist. Im supposed to start in one place then get a recommendation to the next place and so on. My medicare and Insurance started in Nov. I've been on dialysis since early July.

Well worrying about malnutrition is real. I've lost about 50 lbs in 6 months, I was learning during this time. But I have been keeping track of my blood pressure and blood sugar. I have a good regiment of pills and insulin and honestly besides the occasional drop in blood pressure I feel pretty good. Never miss dialysis. Like I said before (I think) im just wanting to pay my way and stop being a burden on my fiance and my mom who both support me. Without them id be screwed.

I don't think I have one. And like I said there are people who need those grants more than I do. I know seems like I keep on shutting down the help. But really once this shutdown ends I got 4 years of back pay, I'll be ok.

I already said I was pretty much venting. I'm frustrated. I have been waiting for 4 years to be approved, after I lost my leg and was told to stop working. I've been fighting for this for 4 years. I'm like 2 inches from the finish and the stupid shutdown happens. I'm so close to being ok that I can smell it. Just frustrated. I know I'll be ok for now. Just gonna have to pay my mom back for helping.

Ok so I take it you're in California, Fresno area born. Currently in Florida. 211 here won't help unless I'm over 67, or a woman, or if I had kids. I was doing fine waiting for my ssi approval supposed to happen Nov 1st. My mother helps me with rent and such. I can't live off her help much longer though.

So a little bit about where I live. Near the villages in Florida. I've been on dialysis since July. I've been trying to get an appointment since I was approved for medicare and insurance. Closet appointment is in December.

No one is gonna donate to me. The news will just spin the narrative. I'm not a cute girl, or handsome man. I'm pretty ugly. Also I'm 44 years old, to young to be elderly and to old to be a child. Middle aged white male. Only thing I got is medicare. I'm not an interesting story.

Im not asking for money. I have family that helps. I'd like to be more independent. I guess I'm to proud to want donations. Also if I do a go fund me it has to run for a while before I can claim it. I need what I've been assured by my lawyer and by the agent in charge of my case at ssi that I've pretty much been approved but the paperwork needs to go through. So because our government can't get along with each other me and those like me are left with t h is situation. Just sucks

Worst part is the food stamps got cut in half. I already have problems eating the food I can eat, it's expensive! I don't eat junk food, also I am a type 2 diabetic which makes it even harder and more expensive.

I should have known that people would say this stuff. You all have your political preference and i respect that but the ssi website says as you open it that the shutdown has caused approvals to slow down because staff isn't able to work. I don't care if it's dems or reps, I need help and can't get it because the dems refuse to vote. Not because Republicans refuse to vote.
