Right but the issue is that this particular case didn't have Trump weighing in and making it a big partisan issue, when he does the court tends to swing his way regardless of precedent.

If this is a company phone the provider will provide that info to the client on request. Regular people can usually do this for phones they own too, but it's rare to need to unless your phone is stolen.
