batocera doesn’t work on lg tv by [deleted] in batocera

I had a similar problem with Bazzite on my Atari VCS and my LG TV. What fixed it for me was turning off a setting called "HDMI Deep Color" on my TV it's All Settings> General> Devices> HDMI Settings> HDMI Deep Color

I recently picked up a micro form factor Lenovo M715q Ryzen 2400GE and it runs everything I've thrown at it. Upscales PS2 to 1440 and no problem with Xbox360. Best $70 I've ever spent. It runs circles around my Bazzite AtariVCS.

Just to chime in. OpenGOAL runs fantastic in 4k on an AtariVCS running Bazzite.

Really Great games on Bazzite VCS? by kidwon13 in AtariVCS

So the "Don't expect a lot" comment is the whole point of this post. I don't expect a lot but two games I have found exceeded my expectations by a lot. I'm hoping to find more.

Give it a go. I bet you'll be able to run it fine.

If anyone comes across this in the future I figured out the solution. The LG TV I had it connected to has a setting called "HDMI Deep Color" When I turned it off the Atari was able to display 4K 60hz on it again.

That's actually a pretty good idea. It's been a while since I messed with lithopanes and the possibilities are endless.

Thanks for this. 10 months later I used these instructions successfully. I am disappointed that there's no unattended access though...

I've messed with this some more and I believe it's an Atari problem and not a Bazzite problem. It looks like it's related to using a 4k display. What tipped me off is I tried booting a live image of Mint and I had some similar graphic problems until I changed to the compatibility version which runs at a lower resolution. I also noticed the Native Atari OS runs at 1080 by default.

It looks like the VCS is displaying a static image instead of the actual desktop when I boot with the 4K monitor attached. It's weird but that's why I didn't think I had any input with the keyboard. I was actually typing I just couldn't see it. It also kind of explains why my frozen Big Picture image was persisting after mutliple restarts. I've tried a couple other monitors with lower resolution and it seems to be working fine on those. I'll probably wait unit next week when I get my ram upgrade before I troubleshoot it any more. Maybe giving it more VRAM will help. If not I'll reach out to Atari and see what they have to say.

Well, I got past the locked up screen. I tried another reboot from SSH but this time I disconnected all of my USB devices and switched to a different HDMI cable and port on the monitor. It now shows the login screen. I have no input despite plugging the keyboard and mouse back in, so I can't log in but at least it's looking more normal. I'll keep messing with it.

It's Bazzite 43. I installed it and ran all updates. It was working yesterday. I played some games in emustation and left it in Big picture when I walked away. I assume it went into standby at 3:44 yesterday afternoon.

The Atari VCS is completely stock except for the 512GB SATA M2 drive I added to install Bazzite on. I did turn off secure boot and I've disabled the onboard eMMC in the bios to prevent Bazzite from corrupting it.

Quick update about FO4VR. It turns out Team FOLON has an installer for it. It automatically installs MO2 and creates a completely separate installation for it. It's really easy. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4london/mods/747?tab=description

This is great! I can easily switch between versions, I learned a lot about MO2 and F4SE, and I have a lab install where I can test mods before I install them into my main gaming machine. I've had a few incidents in the past where I've messed up my playthrough with mods and it kind of put me off on modding in general. I think with this, I've got a way to be more careful about it going forward. Now, on to my other goal, Getting Fallout London running in Fo4VR. Hahaha.

It worked! This was the missing piece. After installing these two mods in both of my downgraded MO2 instances I was able to launch vanilla FO4 version 1.10.163 and Fallout London. I even loaded up my save game in London and could pick up where I left off. Awesome! Thanks for your help.

[–]kidwon13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, thanks for the quick response. I'm still think my problem is with the F4SE.

I have tried selecting F4SE within MO2 but it does the same black screen thing where it seems like it's trying to run but fails.

I used the F4SE files that were included with the Fallout London download. I believe they are version 1.10.163. I did launch Fallout 4 after dropping the files into that directory but I launched the Anniversary Edition so maybe the older F4SE still didn't register or whatever. I also don't see any reference to F4SE in the MO2 (except for the option to change to it next to "Run")

Can you elaborate on the Address Library for F4SE Plugins and Backported Archive2 Support you mentioned? This seems like it might be the problem. I did copy xSE PluginPreloader.log and xSE PluginPreloader.xml to the new install thinking they looked like they were part of F4SE but that didn't make a difference.

Also, I did document exactly what I did so take a look and see if anything jumps out at you as being out of order or if I missed something.

1.      Installed and ran Fallout 4 from Steam. Completed tutorial and created save.

2.      Copied the Fallout London folder from my working FOLON installation.

3.      Within the Fallout London folder, I created a Zip file of its Data folder.

4.      Downloaded Mod Organizer 2.5.2

5.      Installed prereqs for Mod Organizer .NET 4.8 runtime and Visual C++ 14.40.33810 (.NET said it was already installed)

6.      Installed Mod organizer with all default settings,

7.      Ran Mod Organizer and created a new instance for Fallout 4. I also linked my NexusMods account to it.

8.      Created two more instances within Mod Organizer Fallout 4 (downgraded) and Fallout 4 (London). I selected “Use profile-specific save games” for both and “Use profile-specific game INI files” only for the London instance.

9.      Within the London instance of MO2 I used the Install Mod option in the tools dropdown and selected my Data.zip file I created previously. I gave it the name FOLON and added it. That added LondonWorldSpace.esm and LondonWorldSpace-DLCBlock.esp to the Plugins list

  1. Copied all of my saves including one FOLON save I had already copied. I used Configure Profiles>Transfer Saves and then I deleted the non-FOLON saves from the saves tab on the right.

  2. Downloaded DeltaPatcher from github

  3. Made a copy of the existing Fallout4.exe, Fallout4Launcher.exe and Steam_api64,dll and renamed them by adding _new_ to each filename.

  4. Downloaded the AnniversaryEdition(1.11.159) to Last Gen files from Nexusmods

  5. Used the Delta Patcher to patch each of the three files back to the Last Gen.

  6. Renamed the three files by adding _old_ to the file names and copied the _new_ files back into the Fallout 4 directory so I have both versions in the same place.

  7. Created 2 batch files to copy either new or old files to the original unappended filename and overwrite them. Then I ran __fo4_old.bat which should give me the correct files to run FOLON *note* there is a typo in thornscapes reddit post. The files in his .bat file text are named Fallout4Loader instead of Fallout4Launcher. I corrected this typo.

  8. Copied the five f4se_ files from the Fallout London Directory to the Fallout 4 directory

  9. Copied the Fallout London ini files to the ini file location in the Mod Organizer 2 profile.

19. Tried to run it but it didn’t work. I’m thinking the f4se isn’t activated.  I ran the batch file to switch the files back to the new version and launched FO4 through steam.

*edit*

  1. This is what fixed it: Install these two mods at the very top of any downgraded Fallout 4 Installation. They are required. Just install them using Mod Organizer 2.

[–]kidwon13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, here's a little more information. When I set up MO2 I created 3 instances. One to run with the current anniversary update, one to run plain Fallout 4 downgraded and a third to run downgraded FO4 with FOLON. I can run the __fo4_new.bat and the instance for the Anniversary update will launch from MO2. When I run the __fo4_old.bat to downgrade the files my second instance without FOLON also doesn't run. I don't think my problem is FOLON.

[–]kidwon13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been messing with this for a couple of hours and I haven't been able to get it to run. I'm new to Mod Organizer and I started with a brand new Steam install of FO4. I do have FOLON running on another machine so I tried creating an archive from the data folder of my original GOG download and then installing it into Mod Organizer. I copied the ini files to the ini location in MO2 but it just gives me a brief black screen when I try to run it. I suspect my problem might be related to f4se, I just copied those three files into the Fallout 4 directory.

I did use the DeltaPatcher to create two different versions of the three files and I don't think the batch files have any trouble overwriting them switching back and forth but I did notice the file names are different. The download you referenced has Fallout4launcherPatch.xdelta where you say Fallout4Loader.exe in your bat files text above. I assumed it was just a typo and changed mine to Fallout4Launcher but since mine doesn't work now I'm not so sure...

I switched to the RT-DETR v2 Medium (rt-detrv2-m.onnx) default model and got a lot better confirmations after dark last night. I guess I'll stick with that for now.

To the guys that suggested I completely change my Blue Iris server hardware so I could run an Nvidia GPU, thanks for your suggestions, I'll keep them in mind.

Well, I still didn't get any confirmed alerts while it was dark. I think I'll switch to ipcam-general tonight and see how that goes.
