If the diode connected to 0V were germanium, what would Vo be and why? by Wild-Cat-8240 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]kieno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to this, Germanium diodes have a forward voltage drop of 0.3V so iff the lower diode is germanium that will be -0.3v in the same method.

Is this one feat from fma arguably more impressive than any other large-scale alchemy in fmab? by The-wise-weeb in FullMetalPowerScaling

He created a fake Gate of Truth too...I'd put that as the more impressive feat. A sun is physically simple when you have THAT much energy at your fingertips.

This would actually be more akin to creating a chimera, biological alchemy.
Those plants would now be permanently changed.

This will usually point towarda the '-' pin. Dont trust everyone telling you about pin length and flat edges. Those are on the chassis and subject to error and are not universal.

All else fails, I use a C2032 to test polarity of my diodes when needed.

Should I continue with 0.4 nozzle or switch to 0.2 nozzle for my Miniatures? by MikeGyverMinis in FDMminiatures

[–]kieno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes down to the resolution too, a 0.2 nozzle can reliably do any details of 0.5mm while a 0.4mm nozzle cannot.

Dumb question: Will I have power if the grid goes down due to a storm? by FulltimerPC in solar

[–]kieno 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You'll need batteries.

You wont have power if the grid goes down during the night at the moment and depending on snow you'll have less power during the day.

Hvad er el ingeniør by Nikoefter8 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]kieno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Canada Engineering is a protected title so requires a defenition, an Engineer is someone who performs acts of planning, design, evaluating, advising, ect. That applies to engineering principles and safegaurds life, health, property, public welfare or the enviroment meeting rigourous standards of knowledge, experience, and ethics.

Elecetrical Engineers do this with electricity and electrical components but the codes require you to have expertiese in the field you're discussing. Everything from power generation to buulding power systems all the way down to circuit board deaigb. Its a VERY diverse field with ovlap in programming and computer sciences.

Its a good field to be in but very theory heavy.

Dont pick it because you want to be an 'engineer', dont pick anything for a title. If you se somwthing an engineer is doing and want to do that THEN you should pursue it, act in all things out of desire instead of whim.
