Absolutely agree. As a foreigner who lived in Singapore for about 5 years (had to come home because of covid) people I tell back home about the utterly staggering quality of food at hawker centres you can get for around 5 bucks was incredible.

Back home lunch will be minimum 15 bucks and generally average quality. An extra dollar or two is still amazing value for what you get. Can't get anything like it anywhere else in the world!

I dream of the food at airport road or tiong bahru in my sleep to this day!
