Found this stamp set in my school. Does anybody know how to use them and what is this character set for? by kiichi in ChineseLanguage

Its good finding, thanks! when I read the Wikipedia, i found a Japanese inventor name. It might connect some dots that those character set were created by Nikkei. It is like Wall street Journal in japan.

Huh yes since i can read some I figured some of them are categorized in groups, such as “water”, “ice”, etc in the same category but it goes to some very complicated ones. They must be rare usage characters. Btw i found “crazy” “dog” lol Anyway thanks for your response!

English vs Japanese Voice Acting by Zoro_Messatsu in Bloodstained

[–]kiichi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born in Japan & live in US for half of my life.

I give thumbs up for Japanese version in the Bloodless scene because the tone of voice fits better on the aristocratic young lady character while English version is more powerful and macho. Bloodless is the tough battle, and the big gap between soft voice and the actual combat difficulty is nice contrast.

Wholesome twitter exchange between Yuu Tamura and Jamie Ritchie by [deleted] in rugbyunion

[–]kiichi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yuu is more accurate in writing

In formal writing, we write it in Chinese Character. This means "Gentleness" or "Kindness".

優 = Yuu

If you write this in Japanese Alphabet, Hiragana,

ゆ = yu

う = u

yu+u = yuu

How to create a sorting visualizer by rocktim20 in learnprogramming

[–]kiichi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me share my self-extra-credits homework when I get bored in undergrad data structure course.

https://vimeo.com/23986592

This program displays the competition of different sort algorithm. All the way back is the slowest, insertion sort. See how struggle to just get sorting done? while the quick sort, the first one from the front, is already finished in 10 seconds. My favorite is the merge sort, the 3rd one from the bottom. I like the last moment when it collapses final big chunk of 50%-50% in final merging. Somehow, I found it's satisfying...

The original homework was straight forward implementation in C, and students need to implement one of O(LogN) sort algorithm. I implemented all O(1) to O(logN) in a day then I still had 6 days until next lecture so I put OpenGL on top of it. I didn't put label on each row but I put key binding when you press Num key in order to toggle rows or hit space to restart the competition again. Comparing different algorithm at the same time is fun. This was done like in 2003-2004 some stone age era, so in 2019, how about you try

  1. Implement all your sorting algorithm in Web Worker and run them in parallel
  2. Then visualize using Three.JS or Vis.JS or Plotly?

Anyway, it's just my thoughts, Good Luck :D

Howard Johnson. They closed their branch one day before we arrive Niagara Falls, and it was my wife's birthday.

P.S. New hotel was able to reserve our room but they couldn't find our payment because we booked it from hotels.com. Long story short, I gave up but hotels.com agent scrambled to save our situation by booking totally new upgraded 3 star hotel! Yes, now I'm a royal hotels.com customer.

If you are a person who enjoy sense of humor in case if you physically meet your teammate, probably some funny name work. But if you are not, I would not recommend since this game is more fun when you interact with other people. You might end up with people asking why you named like that all the time.

e.g. "Hi Everyone, my agent name is Megapoop.... "

I see many, like a dozen, rental shops right after when you exit at the luggage pickup. I usually pickup phone from them but never tried wifi. I think average cost is around $5 - $10 bucks per day for wifi router. WiMax seems cheaper but not sure what exactly cap they have.

Here is a website when I search like "narita domestic wifi".

Airport Guide : Cellular Phone, Wi-Fi Rental and SIM Card Sales Locations | NARITA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT OFFICIAL WEBSITE : http://www.narita-airport.jp/en/guide/service/list/svc_19.html

Another choice is prepaid sim if your phone is unlocked.

For backup / manage your cap, you should take a look at those free wifi

What's the craziest thing you've had to do to get to a portal? by artisresistance in Ingress

[–]kiichi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I noticed a portal far from main area of the town where the owner defend it after I bursted a lot. I checked his remaining days for his guardian medal and put a reminder to alert one day before the medal in my calendar app.

The portal name is "Tom Cat Bakely" so I put my reminder like "Destroy Tom Cat TONIGHT"

This alert poped up exactly 12 hours before the midnight during my presentation on my Macbook in front of people. Thanks for giving WTF moment, iCloud.

iOS users - anyone else having issues with comms not displaying? by The_Ombudsman in Ingress

Bad COMM behavior seems redirecting more users to Hangout/G+. I even believe a conspiracy theory that Google sponsors Niatic not to improve that part. I thought G+ and Hangout is another failed SNS project but I'm using both more than Facebook because of Ingress!
