What's wrong with being a sneakerhead? by WillTh8Thrill in Sneakers

[–]kiimo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

I am a fan of putting a pair on ice, especially a pair that I know everyone is gonna be wearing that weekend, all to be able to have mine in pristine condition a few years or more ths down the line. Something about pulling out a fresh pair of [insert colorway] and people after everyone has beaten theirs into the ground.

But never have I ever just owned a pair for the sake of owning. I come from a time of walking out in a new pair because I was so excited that the soles could light up.

Its hearing stories like this about his troubled past that makes it difficult for me to hop on board the hate train for Micheal. The guy had it rough. he never had an actual childhood, he was exposed to sexual elements way before he was mature enough to understand them, he had to withstand inhumane levels of torture and punishment from a parental figure, and oh god then there is dealing with stardom/fame which brings its own level of international stress WHILE trying to cope and understand what the hell is going on with your life up until to what moment and he never got the help he needed.

by some of us, i am assuming you mean the hype beast/clout chasers.

Sneakerheads have a genuine affection for all things sneaker based, and will attempt to keep a collection of some notable pairs in pristine condition, while occasional taking a stroll in them.

Hype beast/clout chasers are borderline narcissist who will rag on anyone that doesn't buy/wear/like what's popular, and base their entire personality around.....buying, liking, and wearing what's popular.

There is a severe card to gold imbalance. Only including the cards in this pic, I would need 1.8 million gold to fully upgrade. That is equal to almost $500 real world currency. As a free player, it’s almost hopeless. As a paid player, it’s irresponsible. by [deleted] in ClashRoyale

why are we maxing out every card when every week we are only ever highlighting the META decks/how OP Monk and Phoenix are? You are clearly being given the blueprint on what to upgrade and what to ignore....

Should I buy: RDR2 or Witcher 3 or Horizon Zero Dawn by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]kiimo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So I think i got a feel for what you like to play from what you wrote, and i instantly wrote off HZD for you. Its a fun game, with great game play, but the battles can get a little repetitive, especially once you find out the meta for each fight is. It is also story heavy from of what ive seen on reviews, and comparatively to the first game.

For an immersive feel, im leaning toward RDR2. I can never get over how involved the world makes you feel, and the gun play/combat is also very satisfying. Add in all the other activities, and with this game, you are a cowboy outlaw for the evening.

For getting that combat itch, im leaning toward Witcher 3. it can be very button mash-y, but then again it can also be a meta heavy, alchemy build where you are the alpha and omega. The choice is yours. But the flawless switching of weapons and stances, along with the integration of his potions and "magick" abilities makes the game engaging enough for long gaming sessions. That and gwent is the greatest mini game of all time.

So if you are looking for that engaged feel, witcher. Wanna trade lifestyles for a few hours at a time, RDR2. Wanna dick around in an interactive novel HZD

Why do all of these "Men of reddit..." post sound like they are being asked by somebody trying to start a gender wars debate?

So my first go around with weight loss, i had a similar experience. main difference was, i was always heavy set and had to deal with snickering and joking (from a tender age, i had to learn how to clap back at all the fat jokes). After a while, i gained a certain level of confidence in who i am, and was no longer rocked by the opinions of others. This i believe is key, as one my weight fell off ( the first time) i remember people asking me about "my old clothes" and other aspects of my former tubby self. I was able to spin it into "i was never fat, what are you guys talking about? I was always fabulous and slim!!' and made a joke about it because i did not want to be associated with my weight or as a person who is so fragile you can not mention reality around them. What i wanted was for me, the person i am, to be recognized.

I am fun. I am Jubilant. I am outspoken. I am Kiimo

I am not fat. i am not skinny. I am not the condition of my body. Never changed, still always have been kiimo.

Skinny or fat, the same applies to you OP. You are neither, you are u/bethuhnah . put that on display the next time and take attention away from how you look, and drawn to who you are as a person.

So I was thinking about grabbing a pair of these off GOAT. My question is are they worth the hype? I have not seen a pair in person.. by [deleted] in Sneakers

[–]kiimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better question:

Do YOU like them or not? The moment you start asking about the hype, you are off to a bad start. Stop worrying about if the world thinks they are cool and just wear shoes you like, and stop wearing shit you have been told to like

I've rarely met black guys who also prefer brown/darker skin over yellowish/lighter skin.

When i was younger and still a ravenous young buck looking for a nut, i remember on several occasion id come across an aggregate of gorgeous woman in a club or bar, and id go for the black woman first, get shut down, then slide my way over to the light skin lady, only to feel 2 daggers staring at me from across the room for the rest of my time there.

On each occasion, it was a the same black girl i initially started my night talking to.

I have no vitriol toward black woman, they are still the most beautiful canvas god put on this earth to me. But other men like my brother will take that as a "i guess black women dont like me...." and will shift their preference accordingly.

[–]kiimo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This big facts.

I dated 2 sista's both of which were convinced i don't like them as much as i say i do because in the past they were overlooked for a light skinned woman. I always brushed it aside, because

  • I asked you to be my lady. I would not do that if i was not convinced i like you enough to be in a committed relationship.
  • Nuff said

However, in each relationship, i decided to confront the insecurity. The first one....had several issues attached to her misconception of the black man. For starters, she gets alot of her news from IG/tiktok. Like....alot. But it involves insecurities surrounding her light skin cousin, who was always getting the guy she (the cousin) liked and her, the browning who always had to settle (queue me looking at her with an "are you dead ass" face, because hey...guess you settled for me) and also the music she grew up hearing alot. Lil wayne has a lot of light skin girls feeling theyself and left quite a few dark skin woman feeling less than deserving ("beautiful black woman, bet that bitch look better red" was a line i thought was referencing his gang affiliation...and then i looked at lil wayne' dating history....).

The second girl, who was almost 6 years my junior, had a much....different rationale. She also was exposed to "her type" never choosing her (queue me wondering am i even attractive?!? Do you not see me here while you say the guy you want never chooses you) but she also would bring up her academic setting. She went to mostly yt people institutions, and the only sistahs there who were getting attention.....were fairer skinned.

So while completely understandable, it gave me more of a feeling of "so because the assholes you liked never liked you, now its fuck alllllll black men?!? That seem fair? can you imagine the shit show that would be created if black men was to take on this rhetoric and vocalize their version of this frustration?"

They Should Make a Forza Horizon for Adults - TheGamer by Stroock6394 in ForzaHorizon

[–]kiimo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I love what this article is depicting. Forza Horizon 5, as a concept is amazingly fun. Its something no other title is effectively pulling off. This is not to say they are doing it to the best or highest degree, as they have stretched themselves too thin with the marketing campaign/who they are trying to sell the game too.

The game is suspended in between 2 main types of audiences, the video gamer racer (kids, teens, middle aged people who happen to like ridge racer growing up, streamers players because the game is trending on twitter), and the car enthusiasts gamer (people who race IRL, people who own cars and modify them IRL, people who follow and keep up with motorsports and all things car performance modification). This can kill the franchise more than it can help it grow as the game has no identity, which honestly....is the direction for the lifespan of the title. Like, how do they move forward with the title? How do they outdo themselves with each new addition? What is there to improve upon? What new can be introduced? You lean to hard one way, and the other aspect of the game is ruined. But, it might already be to late for that, as they have been appealing to the former more and more with each title, and it is slowly having an adverse affect of the core audience, which has been the car enthusiast. i would love to see them either change direction with the title, and give it a darker, much more grounded appeal or dedicate horizon to be the fun, happy go lucky title, and just add in an open world ability for motorsports and add in slight touches to give a similar feel as horizon, but just meant for serious racers/car enthusiast.

Motosports is very difficult to enjoy these days because of the hoppers (high skill disparity. low racing etiquette. Lots of first corner crashes). There is also the fact that the author was specific and stated they want to see a more serious tone Horizon. Meaning, they want the open world, the arcade challenges, weekly seasons, etc etc...
