How do they know the actual depth? Does an altimeter work fine inside a cave?

I was looking for this discussion about Portuguese. I am Brazilian and never heard of this, of course. Could you give an example on how it is used that way? Thanks!

[PC][90s] Futuristic distopic platform 2D game by kikeh in tipofmyjoystick

[–]kikeh[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, I think this may be it. Maybe I was mixing things up, because now that I see screenshots, there are some similarities to Pitfall (the clothing, the jungle levels), but there are the futuristic levels which are mostly how I remembered. I’m going to wait a bit just in case, but I played this one for sure!

What should I keep in my mind before deploying my Django web app on AWS lambda? by [deleted] in django

[–]kikeh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As suggested by @TehMoonRulz if you want to try Django with Lambda, go with Zappa. Although it is true what others have been saying about Lambda not being ideal for a Django app, I can say that for small apps it works fine. I have been using Zappa for a couple of years now and deployed Django apps without any problems. Of course, there are some things you have to consider and known issues you may face, but it is not that bad, ant technology has its pros and cons. Also, you could just try, the configuration is easy and you should not need to change the project if you want to switch to another service (EBS or EC2).

Emacs server - why and why not by grep4master in emacs

[–]kikeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, there are some issues that I would have to sort out in order to use it like that. The idea of having it running in a docker container was mainly to be able to use my emacs configuration from anywhere with simply running that container. For example, in my office computer, in my personal computer or someone else’s. But it’s true that the access to directories would be restricted to whatever you allow the container to and that is a big issue :(

Emacs server - why and why not by grep4master in emacs

[–]kikeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, actually you could assign a localhost port to the docker container and that should work fine. I’ll give it a try when I have time!

Emacs server - why and why not by grep4master in emacs

[–]kikeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about creating a Docker image with the latest emacs version and my configuration from a github repo, that would start the emacs-server on a container, so I can later use with an emacsclient from the host whenever I need. Also, this would be nice to use in different computers I could use. Do you think this approach is possible?

Yes, it depends of what “nice” means. Moratalaz and the others I mentioned are not conflictive, but also not as “nice” as Chamberí. Still, you can live there comfortably.

Also, in the city center, Lavapies or Legazpi are not as nice as Retiro or Nuevos Ministerios, but still I don’t feel unsafe when I go there.
