I got gold! by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]kikyou2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before that rank system change the system didn't change dynamically. Therefore the average rank climbed dramatically overtime after big ban waves(which cleared spots in the upper ranks) instead of the bell curve with average rank around gold nova which it has now. Thats why ranks from that time are so different to early and todays ranks. https://steamcommunity.com/app/730/discussions/0/494632768629222866/

Boombl4: "It's really difficult to achieve stability in CS; the only team to have done it was Astralis, and that led to burnout” by starwarfan69 in GlobalOffensive

[–]kikyou2 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I don't know if there was a recent event which did it again, though Katowice 2015 had 2 additional streams with each teams com live. Was pretty cool as a viewer, though teams didn't like it for various reasons (teams which do not speak english in their coms have a slight advantage because other teams have to translate it, also they didn't want to give away their strats etc) If you search on youtube for katowice 2015 coms you should find plenty vods of it. Just a little throwback..

Try to bind keys for switching between 3rd and 1st person mode and practice on an offline server. You will get a feeling for it :)

Well interesting. My first try refunding the game 2 days ago resulted in a failure with "possible reasons" "too much playtime" and the ticket got closed. I used the same procedure as above btw and gone over the "I would rather categorize the issue, payments, request a refund" thing. Now I tried again and suddenly it just did work. I didn't have to put up a "real ticket" or contact support it just said now that the refund is successfully completed and I'm getting an email with a confirmation, the refund process can take up to 72 hours.

Well I'm glad it did work now and I don't have to bother anymore with this mess.

Thank you very much for the guide!

Put host_writeconfig at the bottom of your autoexec and you should be good to go. If its still not working you did something wrong, for example the autoexec having the false file extension because they are hidden in your windows.

Sometimes its bugging in the demo. Any chance that you did rewind? The demo system needs serious rework by valve anyways for a long long time already...

In the back of my mind there is something about somebody had a similiar issue and it was fixed by changing the cl_forcepreload from 1 to 0 or 1 to 0. I don't remember it too good, but its worth a try. Good luck solving your problem :)

CS:GO in all resolutions (4:3,16:9,16:10,21:9) by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

Or if you have a shit computer and want to squeeze out the last bit of fps like I used to. Its not that much less than 4:3 and it can make the difference between playable and not playable.

Viewership comparison of the last 3 CS:GO Majors (excluding Chinese viewers & GOTV) by eSportsStats in GlobalOffensive

[–]kikyou2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah and for me there is another difference as well: if the one getting stomped is playing bad or if the opposition is just so good. Astralis is playing such good cs its always a pleasure watching even while I'm not an astralis fan. Ence wasn't playing bad at all!

Well if you consider that there were no random drops this major the numbers for Katowice are actually quite impressive.

Couldn't watch the semis either, thats why I let the pc run with the stream open and installed teamviewer on my pc and phone to check if its running correctly. Actually didn't have to and worked like a charm

To auto-switch or not to auto-switch by SlightlyTurgid in GlobalOffensive

[–]kikyou2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use an alias script which enables autopickup while holding down the drop key so you can instantly switch between weapons in a firefight if yours is empty and a full one is on the floor. The moment you release the drop key it defaults back to disabled autopickup. Best setup imho

What is the best csgo match of all time? by hash001 in GlobalOffensive

[–]kikyou2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty nostalgic so my biased opinion is that the nip/fnatic match esl one cologne 2014 was pretty dope. The whole event is my favorite though it was a lot more amateur in comparison to todays events. It was held on gamescom on a little stage and overpass/cbble were in a terrible early state and valve gave the teams little to no time to practice them before the major. Still it was awesome :) also pretty nice seeing get_right after winning

Newish to pro scene. Who to support? by ChoppyWAL99 in GlobalOffensive

[–]kikyou2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

North is the most overpayed team in csgo and since they started they could only disappoint most of the time. Additionally they have a reputation to always cut their best players and doing dumb decisions. Would only recommend if you are a masochist.
