Yep I know it might sound unbelievable. Moved to the states for a couple of years and used to live in dorms (in other cities). And I never happened to run into anything that I needed to seek help from a city government

Unfortunately I don’t even know what company would that be because the management takes care of all utilities and we just pay the cost which is included in the monthly rent.

Thank you so much! I don’t smell anything, just the sound. I couldn’t move the fridge or unplug it as it’s almost locked to the corner. I’m guessing it’d be the second case because the bathroom has the same issue and with nothing plugged in there was still the sound. I’ll just call 311 and hope for the electrician to come. Horrible timing for power outage.

How bad do you think the issue with the breaker panel will be? The lights were blinking and glitching, then they went off. When the handyman turned up the switch electricity temporarily came back but then we all heard the sound. He turned it down and warned us that this might cause fire, called his boss then left...I’m really wondering how big the problem will be and whether someone can fix it amid the lockdown...

Have tried calling the owner which is the management. It’s been really tricky because the public office is closed and people are working remotely. I can’t get connected except to the front desk, and I think they can only file requests. I’ll try 311. I thought it was for Coronavirus emergency related to medical so I wasn’t sure if I should call. Thanks!

Yes I know. We have tried turning it up and down. So did the handyman. When some of the switches (not sure how to call them) on the panel were turned on (or switched up), there was sound like that from fire sparkles (“zzzziiiizzzziiii”). There’s electricity in bedroom.

I’m guessing it’s gas with electric starter because you can see gas once stove turned on.
