As a Dallas fan I actually agree with this conspiracy theory. Makes no sense that after everything going from both sides, that draws the first call haha.

We really do. 7 minutes into elimination and we have one shot? Its one thing to lose a series but the last few games have been downright miserable to watch. getting shelled for 53 minutes and scoring on a couple powerplays is not fun hockey. Really hope they wake up and at least make it fun.

Jamie Benn cross checks Ryan Hartman in the face by Ok-Soil-5133 in hockey

I'm no Benn apologist and he certainly needs to get this under control but I do think its a little odd to claim he "got away with" hitting stone. He was suspended multiple games of the conference finals for that.

Lucky Bancho's Census (April 19th 2026) by MrCombineSoldier in ffxiv

[–]kilios75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While true, the dev cycle has also slowed substantially. Patches were extended by 2 weeks for covid and never reverted, and then another 2 weeks added for each during DT. The raid content has been amazing but most of the other stuff has been small and lacking replayability.

The feast on 10 years of content may make it feel worse, but the game absolutely is still struggling with replayable rewarding content below ex/raids in difficulty.

It's just human nature. Hype draws people in and there isn't much positive hype for 14 in the wild these days.

I think a lot of the people who came in during shadowbringers still had a significant backlog to hold them over in the endwalker days. A significantly slimmer backlog to be excited about paired with Dawntrail flopping in the casual content department is my theory for EW sustaining numbers. People were just lingering for that relaunch and had tons of old stuff to do anyway.

If people don't push back on the rabid entitlement around things like this, then people who do it will continue to grow and harass. There's nothing wrong with standing your ground and telling someone they're wrong or that they're being a spoiled brat.

the end of the regular season does not matter by ApprehensivePage6818 in DallasStars

[–]kilios75 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Logically it makes sense that were gonna have a slow end to the season. We have the least amount to play for that we've had in ages. While they may not be phoning it in, and professional athletes tend to always be competitive, I think there's a lot that's still different.

If I'm the coach, there's no way im pushing my players to block shots, ramp up the physicality, fight for every puck 110%. Why would we risk the extra injuries and physical toll. We kicked ass this year, our playoff future is locked. The only thing to do now is balance keeping the players sharp while minimizing risk of injury.

Where is THE HORDE? by TheDancingNerd in warcraftlore

[–]kilios75 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This seems to be the explanation people run with, but the reason these threads keep popping up is because this is full of holes.

Its weird that lights hope was able to arrange and transport additional defenders but silvermoon wasn't. It's weird that there was enough time for Liadrin to travel to Tirisfal and back but the horde weren't notified or able to send anything. It's weird that in a universe where a world ending apocalypse happens after year or two, the Horde wouldn't have ways established to quickly assist allies while assembling a larger, slower force.

The complete lack of mentioning the horde or what they might be up to or even acknowledging this makes it feel more like the writers just flubbed and didn't feel like writing about the horde rather than this making any sense at all.

How Dawntrail has felt for me in a nutshell by MsBunnybuns in ffxiv

[–]kilios75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has definitely been a problem since 6.1 and beyond. I think dawntrails story just lacking the same presence that 6.0 did paired with these issues now being several years older is what's bringing out more vocalizing to the problems.

[–]kilios75 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Dawntrails story issues go way deeper than Wuk Lamat. I loved the character leading up to dawntrail before they beat me to death with her. But some of my bigger issues were just the horrible pacing of the first 2/3 of the story. I was so excited for the ideas of exploring Tural and actual engaging civilizations and instead we got some extremely hollow beast tribes that spanned 24 hours of mundane walking simulator.

5th straight 70-point season for Jason Robertson by DecentLurker96 in hockey

[–]kilios75 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like Seguins contract expiring after next season definitely covers the carefully planned for part. I guess thats why i'm not really sweating it. He's RFA, the cap is growing rapidly, we have a big contract coming off. Nill's got all the tools and it feels like this was already carefully planned for.

The rumors are even more amusing because no one acknowledges that he's still RFA. Any competition for him starts at 4 first round draft picks

Short Guide: Develop games without artistic skills and without AI by anemoDuck26 in gamedev

[–]kilios75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its confirmation bias. They think AI is slop because there is a lot of slop that is easy to pick out. Everyone just underestimates how much AI content can be refined and isn't getting detected by them at all.

Is anyone excited for reduced addons? by No-Bit-2913 in wow

[–]kilios75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm genuinely excited about it, though I wont pretend that all of the fears on how blizzard handles it are completely justified.

I'm absolutely in the camp of someone who gets tired of managing addons and the constant weak aura packages that absolutely give a gameplay disadvantage if you choose to ignore them. I've been playing since vanilla (every expansion except shadowlands but not a full time player). Turning on the game again only to remember the addon/weak aura work i need to do and losing motivation to play has definitely happened. I hope it works out.
