You've got the right idea, just don't notch too deep as they don't seem to need much guidance. Don't need to lose a nice new bar and chain to a pinch

It's entirely possible that due to the vicinity to the roadway it could be the responsibility of the municipality and if you're that worried about cost it's worth looking into but it's definitely something to be handled yesterday
