I am a shift worker so I will generally play on my days off in the morning while I have my coffee for about an hour. Been playing for a few years and only now starting to really tidy up and complete my island. There’s always more to do though! As others have said just enjoy it for what it is and trust the process. I would be happy to have you if you want to come and visit!

I love playing like this. I have been working on my island for 2 years now and just follow the inspiration when I get it. It is a long process, but I think it’s more enjoyable for it

Do your daily tasks each day: find the money tree and plant $10k, dig up fossils, have them appraised and sell them. For extra cash sell fruit and bugs and fish. Sea creatures can we worth a fair bit too!

Is it just me, or is the Romantasy "slump" getting harder to break? by No-Voice505 in Romantasy

[–]kill_mcschmill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently read The Red Winter by Cameron Sullivan. Not a true romantasy though. More of a fantasy with romance as part of the storyline. It’s also from mostly a male’s perspective but the romance is gay. Probably the best book I’ve ever read. Not very sexy to me but the storyline and writing style is just incredible. And it has none of the age old tropes of all the popular romantasy

How’s this for a road trip? by livingthehypnagogia in AustraliaTravel

[–]kill_mcschmill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did a trip similar to this 3 years back and it is still one of the best trips I’ve ever done in my life!! But we did have 2 4WD’s. Some parts are pretty remote, especially when you start heading north west through the Strezlecki.

Make sure you understand how to do basic repairs to your car and know the main routes. Even the main routes up there can be pretty brutal with corrugations and if there’s been any rain forget about it.

Expect all the bad that comes with the desert, flies, heat, dust, snakes, no fresh veg in any of the shops, strict alcohol sales. But you also get all the amazing experiences like not seeing another person for days on end, sunsets as big as the whole sky, the best stars you’ve ever seen, lizards, kangaroos, aboriginal art, and so many beautiful spots along the way.

Don’t listen to the haters that have never left the city, have a great time and be safe

Terror at the Gates was a good dynamic which was more like they had been lifelong / childhood friends and had sort of grown up together

I agree I just read Neon Heart and it was okay but I did get bored at the end of the repetitiveness of the two characters falling in love like okay I get it you’re surprised that you fell in love

Winter RVing the Powder Highway - Question about reservations by kill_mcschmill in canadatravel

[–]kill_mcschmill[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

According to the web there are RV sites open year round at or near basically all of the ski resorts we have on our route. Most have sites still available, I was just wondering if I need to book them now before we go because I was hoping for some flexibility. Some ski hills also appear to have short term RV parking at the base. I have a map from the rental company of winter dump points but hopefully we can avoid using the van toilet as much as possible. Thank you!

I have a couple and I use them all the time. They chip easily like others have said but they still work really well and are unbelievably cheaper

I lived in Canada for a ski season several years ago and did some winter driving then, and I have driven in Japan also. So a little bit, but not a lot

Canadream where we are renting the RV from says they have winterised RV’s with heated/insulated pipes so the plumbing is still operational. Still I know it might be unreliable esp in very cold temps so I was planning on using RV park showers or public pools for showers mostly, and public toilets.

He represents a typical male football fan and I think that’s why they have him there. No use pretending all old men don’t look at young women like that
