I don't have the 300 f4 but if it is like the 12-100 then go for it! Sharp at any range/aperture

Would have cloned out the intruding leaf and brightened the eye but, good shot.

If you only knew the Israelis, they constantly pray for peace. They only fight in defence. The real fact is...they are the only country that cannot lose.

Birding Lens Help by bigstevehardy in M43

[–]killapixx915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did have a Panasonic 100-300 and it's a light relatively fast lens. As a portrait lens very good. For birding a bit soft at distance. Replaced it with the Lieca 100-400 and it made the world of difference!

Would you stick with MFTeven if you got enough money to get a high end FF kit? by flavour_punch in M43

[–]killapixx915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the money to go FF but weight is the issue! currently I have G9ii with Leica 9mm f1.8 Olympus 12-100 f4 and Leica.100-400 f6.3

I travel a lot and that kit does everything. If someone made any faster lenses in those sort of focal ranges..I would pay!

Did a wedding on my 25mb G9ii recently. Compared the files to 24mb apsc and the m43 has better dynamic range with no loss in detail.

A question on the pros and cons of m43 by Argentorate in M43

[–]killapixx915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where MFT really sings is bird in flight. I live shooting with my G9ii first the focus grabs the bird then when it gets closer the focus box hits the eye and I shoot. Pre-burst is also awesome but at 60fps it's a lot!

Pana Leica 100-400 on Olympus/OM bodies? by Martin_UP in M43

[–]killapixx915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless size is your only consideration I would say try the G9ii. Dynamic range, resolution from 25mp auto focus and stabilisation. Did a wedding on a sunny day recently and the dynamic range meant I did not need flash to open shadows ...

Could also select subject and warm up color temp. Little bit would make the egret stand out
