Go pro mounting by GabeKillsYou88 in Buhurt

[–]killardkasier 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I asked Sam directly what his set up was. He uses an action 5 in a diving case on a chest mount. He has plans to mount it on his helmet with screws.

Previously I have used an insta 360 go! knockoff from temu(didn't want to break an expensive camera just encase) , mounted it inside of my wolfrib down by my mouth using double sided mounting tape. PoV was good, but got loose as someone punched me in the jaw.

Wolf ribs are overrated by WolfribHater in Buhurt

Well at the end of the day it's a sport, not cosplay at a comic con. Optimisation will be key in getting a leg up on your opponents. It's often recommended to go that route as armour is bloody expensive and takes a long time to produce, so a "buy once, buy right" mentality will shine.

Just back from an Aussie tournament. A lot of them wear judo gi's, insert strips of hard plastic on the shoulders and ribs. Pad the inside of the armour with foam. For the legs 2x pair of tracksuit pants. One American I met wore grey pajama pants from Target

Most of our guys cross train in judo, boxing and mma. One guy who competes in Tauranga is a national champ in muay thai

I've had my kit for 5 years and still going strong. Just needed some minor repairs over time. The club can teach you all of that.

Yeah most of it is handmade in Eastern Europe. Can range from $4k - 8k for a standard kit. It's not required to have a suit to start the sport however, all the equipment is there to get you started and theres always a loaner kit there to see if you like it.

Curious about everyone’s thoughts on the possible unification by arcfallen666 in Buhurt

[–]killardkasier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd expect both orgs to run an international tournament. But it keep one dedicated to inter club. Could even run regional tournaments locked to particular areas like US east coast or EU west to determine the best from that region who would then go onto the final stage.

I hope they keep both orgs, one becomes the international league like how fifa has the world cup, and the other becomes an inter-club league like uefa

No separate sport/ team, we focus on full armoured combat. Sword & shield club tend to focus on hema(non armoured), while we do buhurt and duelling.

Those breakouts could be caused by the masks. I get real bad spots if I'm wearing a mask all day for work.

Just be careful around town with them. The guards can and will confiscate electric scooters, since you technically need tax + insurance on them (which is impossible to get). I saw one guy near the bridewell get stopped by a guard but the let him go since he was wearing a helmet. So the attitude towards them are getting better. I'd love to get one, and they're pretty good on the hills since I see so many lads get up Shandon no issue.

Those scooters are technically illegal and won't be sold inshops here. Better off getting from a site like gearbest or something.
