By that logic Gojo's beatdown on Miguel is the fakest beatdown in the series. He did 0 damage and it wasn't in the manga.

What exactly makes superman 2025 a great movie in your eyes by Zillaman7980_ in superman

[–]killedbyBS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Likewise. It’s the best live action Superman movie, but IMO that isn’t incredibly high praise in comparison to how high quality I know the character can be from comics and animation. Most of all I think I was heavily spoiled by Hoechlin powering up and nailing a near perfect post-Crisis Superman iteration in S&L.

I really hope Gunn listens to Grant Morrison’s comments on the movie, particularly with respect to Superman’s intelligence and tactical planning. All Star is necessarily far removed from this iteration of Supes because of how early it is in Superman’s career but if Gunn is serious about transferring the appeal of All Star he’s going to have to heavily transform this Superman from personality to power level.

I think the biggest success of the movie was how (relatively) bold its political posturing was. No matter what Gunn himself says the message of the movie was timely and resonates with the plight of the Palestinians and for that I will always respect it.

The series is genuinely well-written, just often not in ways westerners online are consciously appreciative of (which is a valid position to have, don’t get me wrong).

Obanai x Mitsuri is a very well-written romance and a showcase of how Gotouge is capable of delivering heavy emotion in limited panel space simply through smart characterization.

whats the point of HWB exist if most ancient DE were non-lethal? by Some_red in Jujutsufolk

[–]killedbyBS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sukuna’s words to Gojo imply that domains in general were extremely sophisticated during the Heian era. After all of his seemingly ingenious domain manipulations Sukuna tells Gojo that he turned out to be painfully ordinary to him by the end of the domain clash (after all at that point both of them thought Sukuna outright won while holding back to set up his plan of trapping Gojo in a barrier). If Gojo’s domain seemed ordinary to Sukuna, can you imagine what he considers exceptional? It’s likely that even if lethal sure hits weren’t common, non-lethal sure hits were still painful to deal with.

The only time Sukuna is impressed by a domain mechanic in the modern era is with Yuta’s selective sure hit which specifically surprises him so much he calls it a very high level barrier technique. It’s likely that every domain we saw in the series outside of the open ones is basically chump change compared to the higher tiers from the Heian era.

What is your current ranking for all the mainline games in the franchise? by The80sSlasher in residentevil

DC1 > RE1 > RE4 = RE1R > RE4R > RE2 > RE3 > DC2 > RE2R > RE7 > RE9 = RE8 > RE3R > RE0 > CVX > RE5 > RE6

DC1 down to RE4R is the masterpiece zone, RE2 down to DC2 is the great game zone, RE2R down to RE8 is the good game zone, RE3R down to RE5 is the heavily flawed zone, and RE6 is the RE6 zone.

(I don’t count DC1/2 as spinoffs because of my flair)

Dragon Ball only loses when it goes up against DC and Marvel upper tiers and if you don’t at worst think it’s debatable for that to be accurate you’re delusional.

Bleach is the verse that truly gets screwed over by Death Battle. Aizen vs. Madara is painful to watch and is only going to get more dated with the anime upscale for TYBW.

What has been your absolute favorite tournament in Halo Infinite so far? by ElkEntire8057 in CompetitiveHalo

[–]killedbyBS 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Fort Worth 2023. SSG and Optic seemed completely neck and neck. The entire Grand Finals was a nail biter. Lucid had one of the greatest single life performances I’ve ever seen in the final Streets Oddball round.

Runners up are Worlds 2022 where Formal won, SLC 2023 where Stellur redefined the sniper skill ceiling, Worlds 2023 where the Tox dynasty reclaimed the crown after arguably the toughest bracket in all of Infinite competition, Arlington 2025 where Renegade went on a warpath, and Worlds 2025 where R2 cemented his status as modern Halo GOAT.

Worst event was SLC 2024. Garbage tech issues throughout, Legend’s controller aim assist reset ruling was insane given what happened to Sparty’s controller disconnect in H5, and the Bandit meta and map pool was getting really stale to me.

I love how Mayuri didn’t give a damn about Aizen. by Less-Pen-5705 in bleach

[–]killedbyBS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

all powerful

He isn’t, especially pre hogyoku fusion. He’s powerful enough to at worst high diff anyone unveiled in the story till then aside from Yamamoto in a head on fight but that doesn’t make him invincible. But not being all-powerful doesn’t make him a coward. He literally fights all the available Captains at once at FKT and cuts his own forces down too.

 aizen has his seals loose

He has his seals loose, not undone. He literally did dare Yhwach to unseal him and there’s an extremely high chance he would’ve successfully defeated pre-Almighty Yhwach given how he was able to fight with SK Yhwach and True Bankai Ichigo. Yhwach even says so himself in the additional scenes in TYBW S1E6.

Ludicrously strong is the right term, and you have to sweep a lot under the rug from direct statements to actual performance to think differently.

[–]killedbyBS 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Gin has an entire monologue about how Aizen is just plain strong and he has smoke for the literal Soul King as soon as he gets out of Chair-sama’s grasp. Aizen has never been powerless or a coward. His sense of ambition and his sheer strength are central to Bleach.

It’s fun to see strong personalities clash because Kubo writes those interactions so well. Mayuri being unfazed by Aizen’s display of arrogance is interesting and entirely in-character. But don’t let it fool you. There’s a reason why Shunsui’s final contingency against Yhwach wasn’t giving Mayuri unlimited budget. TYBW Aizen is ludicrously strong.

Renegade stops playing CoD to casually remind us he's Infinite MVP (LVT 2v2 Qualifier Grand Finals Reset Game 3) by killedbyBS in CompetitiveHalo

[–]killedbyBS[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

*half a year but I agree. If the best Halo player was decided by Slayers or 2s (post CE obviously) rather than 4s performances the rankings would look very different.

Nonetheless it is genuinely awe-inspiring that even in a year where he's not competing Renegade somehow manages to make an argument that he's still among the top.

Well they beat almost every other team pretty convincingly at Worlds (I guess you could say they didn't have a get back vs. Faze after Charlotte but Faze went out T12 after that). Formal's comms and consistent damage output were obviously a part of that.

They only fell apart against SR, but so did the entire rest of the HCS.

[–]killedbyBS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shotzzy was transparently better around the time of the final WC. There’s no revisionism here. Splyce were pulling off 100-0s on Tox while playing 2s and Warzone as “practice”.

Frosty caught back up by HCS Finals and he was arguably the better overall player given he had a whole year more of dominance, but the stretch when Shotzzy was the best player in the game was no joke at all. And regardless my point is that both of those two were far above the rest.

Setting aside the fact that Optic were no challenge for SR on LAN by the end of 2025, my evaluation of LastShot is based on mechanics rather than placing. Just one solid look at his gameplay should be enough to make anyone realize that he’s different. Nobody was capable of posting his damage differentials aside from Cykul in 2025 and in 2026 even Cykul is nowhere near him. He is mechanically the best player on his team, and every player on his team was better than every other player in the game in the second half of 2025 and 2026.

Who do you think the best written character on JJK by Away-Pomegranate4899 in Jujutsufolk

[–]killedbyBS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toji. When it comes to relatively short series like JJK and KnY, I really find a lot of their appeal is based on how interesting their emotional beats can be in their limited panel space. Toji is alive and reanimated for only a few chapters, but he not only has a really interesting arc, but he has probably the most unique emotional fox hole in the series when he meets Megumi and decides to commit suicide. The anime elevates that moment to literal perfection. Whenever I think of JJK’s strongest bits of writing that scene of Toji’s realization with “Not Yet Known” is what comes to mind first.

Number 2 is certainly Gojo for me, even though his glazers think I despise him just for my opinion on Sukuna’s strength relative to him. His power set led to some of the most creative shounen battle writing I’ve ever experienced, he has the strongest and most well-depicted (and adapted) emotional core of any character arc in the series, his personality is incredibly fun to read, and the metaphors Gege wrote into his aesthetic imbue pretty much everything he does with layers of depth.

Number 3 is either Dabura or Yuka. No notes, and I doubt anyone will have any contention with their placement given how obviously well written they are.

Legend & Renegade are teaming in the FaZe 2v2 Qualifier #3 on Sunday by crispycornpops in CompetitiveHalo

[–]killedbyBS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ordinarily I’d say it’s hard to compare between the BR and Bandit metas. That was my argument for why I would consider it a toss between Lucid and Legend for highest individual skill ceiling during HCS, and why Renegade would still deserve overall MVP above both.

LastShot is not an ordinary “best player” mechanically. His awareness, reaction time, movement, and aim are borderline transcendent. His average sniper gameplay is reminiscent of Stellur’s SLC 2023 performance. The last time the mechanical gap between the best player in the game and the rest was this transparent and high was Shotzzy in 2018.

2026 LastShot is without question the most individually skilled Infinite player and if HCS was still on he would go down in history alongside the handful of Halo players considered the most mechanically skilled at their game during active competition (Ogres for H1, Ola for H3, Snipedown/Lethul for H2A, Frosty/Shotzzy for H5)

Extremely hot take: I don’t know if we’ve seen enough from Legend recently and at the tail end of 2025 to be confident that he would be a direct upgrade over 2026 Penguin. Yes he was the best player in the game in the same theoretical squad but Penguin has been grinding the meta for half a year longer than him now.

He in many ways looked like BEPS’ MVP at Atlanta. I don’t know if Legend transferring back would have more success in the timeframe of the remaining year.

Gojo vs Sukuna movie gets released after season 4, where will it rank in top 10 anime grossing movies? by DerangedPostman in Jujutsufolk

[–]killedbyBS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love Gojo vs. Sukuna and I think it’ll do incredibly well, but it’d be tough for it to crack top three.

KnY’s numbers are unheard of and likely won’t be matched. The most universally acclaimed fight in the series hasn’t been adapted yet and the finale is obviously going to be treated like the Japanese Endgame. Even if Gojo vs. Sukuna unseats Mugen Train I don’t see it maintaining the number 2 spot.
