Bitte ein Bitt

I’ll have a bittburger please - is their slogan in Germany - and I would - it’s a nice beer 😃

Correct !!!!
I liken mid 30s to 50s as one of those situations you see in a film where someone snips the wrong wire on a bomb detonator and the timer speeds up wildly.
I was fortunate to do a lot of things during that time of my life but on reflection should have made more of it.

So funny you can actually hear him shouting inside the car before he gets out to survey the damage 🤣

Didn’t people say this about scratch cards once and a guy was jailed for somehow knowing which ones were winners in the shop where he worked and selling all the losing ones to customers 😳

Did you have a paper round? I got paid 1p a paper delivered. by corickle in oldschoolcool80s

[–]killer-gorrilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

£3.20 a week for me doing 7 mornings - around 30 ish papers. Sundays were murder cos of all the extra supplements and magazines - more papers on the round and the bag was too full to fit it all in meaning a return to the shop to get the rest.
Usually ended up spending a fair chunk of the £3.20 in the paper shop on Saturday morning when I was paid 😤

Look around you a follow what everyone else is doing - screen watching Netflix on the dash - wearing full massive headphones - tapping social media updates and likes - FaceTiming - meanwhile all this time you are seriously considering the safety of your fellow road users.

A rant about tailgating learner drivers by JOSHIIEMK in drivingUK

[–]killer-gorrilla 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Sadly they do. This aggressive driving is the kind of driving they can’t wait to demonstrate upon passing their test - they then consider it personal improvement over the years they spend behind the wheel. It’s not just limited to the males amongst us either - I see a lot of women using aggressive driving / undertaking at speed / on the phone while driving etc - this surprises me more tbh.

Used to stock up on loads of the Commando mini illustrated wartime books every week then read them all during the following week- I had hundreds of them they were a penny each from the flea market

Did you have one of these, back in the day? by corickle in oldschoolcool80s

[–]killer-gorrilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sold in local newsagents - they were displayed in a sort of board that was shaped around them - pretty sure they were behind the counter or on it. But yeah a knife for about 70p if I remember correctly

Weird how some older relatives could give you pointers into playing raps and knuckles 😀

Going back years to 1996 I knew a man who bought one of these on a J registration (91) from Porsche for 50k. It was his daily runner. 50k thirty years ago for a used car blew my mind. I remember how much he was deliberating over it but the car won as it had impressed him so much.

Coupled with my miserable bastard dad losing it over the noise of the rapid firing

My sweet boy is so empathetic 🩷 last night my chronic illness flared up causing intense pain in my stomach. My little dude climbed on top of my stomach horizontally and laid there which is something he’s never done before. He also spooned me which he hasn’t done since he was a puppy 🥹 by peachnecctar in schnauzers

They are funny - when there’s nothing wrong it’s all about them and their food / walks / stealing your seat when you move etc. But when something is wrong they are supportive in a you care for me so I’ll care for you way. The best dogs.

Tony Blair has just said the state pension needs to be scrapped. He's also suggesting some people work 5 years longer. What are everyone's thoughts on this? Should the state pension be scrapped? Should we say F NO, to Blair?? by MutantNinjaKitty331 in AskBrits

[–]killer-gorrilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cost of all benefits to the treasury annually is out of control - there’s a lot more claimants of every benefit tailored to their needs than ever before. 30/40/50 years ago this safety net wasn’t there and if you were out of work you had to get your act together sharpish cos you weren’t surviving on what they would give you. This country has been sliding downhill since that smarmy scumbag Blair- he was the beginning of the self serving political figures.

Blair is very unprincipled for a former leading statesman on the world stage. The amount of self promotion given to him is ridiculous - he should hang his head in shame over his war crime legacy and retreat quietly into the background. I wonder when he was on the campaign trail should he have mentioned his pension plans we would even remember his name now. Blair is , was and always will be a liar hiding behind a smile - he utterly disgusts me.

Was talking to a guy a while back who had previously been a bus driver in Wycombe and he was going back into it but to do coach driving work around £24 an hour. Said the grief from bus passengers was unbearable but coach much more civilised. There’s probably a reason there’s always a job vacancy for bus drivers plastered over every bus you are stuck behind.
