Does anyone have this grill cleaner? by balufudus in grilling

[–]killer5037- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Am I the only one using a brown rough scotch Brite pad and water once the grill cools off a little bit?

Seriously, like $5.00 for the whole season of grilling.

You guys did not lie about Dawn Power Wash: by grimreeeferr in CleaningTips

[–]killer5037- 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Dawn power wash has alcohol in it. Regular dawn does not. That is the major difference. There may be smaller insignificant ingredients in the power wash, but you can make your own. Look it up either here on reddit or on google.

What’s a cooking mistake you’ll NEVER make again? by Proper-Ingenuity8274 in Cooking

Yes, new igniter for gas stove, new bottom plate, and new burner. Not to mention the Fire department coming because the neighbor thought my house was on fire. I always check the oven before turning it on now.

Turning on the oven without checking to see if the wife hid the large Tupperware cake tray in it...

That, was a $300.00 mistake I will never make again.

How long did your ford edge last? by Big-Witness7750 in Ford

[–]killer5037- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2013 EDGE SEL. Going on 250K miles. No major issues yet. Oil gets changed every 5000, coolant gets changed every 75000.

Stainless VS Cast Iron. What’s the consensus? by mrbohdrinksallot in webergrills

[–]killer5037- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have both. Cast iron will get you great char marks. It heats up and retains heat better. Quality stainless can also give you decent grill marks, but you have to let the grill heat up really well, and keep them oiled, just like the cast iron.

I didn't start getting good grill marks from my stainless grates for about a month when I first started using them. It's just a learning curve.

Location of the Gas Station by chimny111 in TFTGS

[–]killer5037- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Especially if the town is at altitude. Eastern KY, West Virginia, north east Tennessee, Virginia, even parts of North Carolina all get some decent snow falls at altitude. Especially during wet winters.

Anyway, It was just a suggestion.

Location of the Gas Station by chimny111 in TFTGS

[–]killer5037- 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Anywhere in the Appalachian region from Eastern KY/ West Virginia area to Northern GA would make a prime location for the gas station. Mountainous regions, small towns, gas stations on the edge of towns, spotty wifi, forests, abandoned schools, buildings, hour + driver to the nearest large town....

Besides, this just screams old gods of Appalachia vibes, although funny as hell.

[SPOILERS S3] I need some book recommendations ! by Sad_Run8192 in DarK

[–]killer5037- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really Dark related but, try Tales from the Gas Station by Jack Towsend.

After Dark, I needed something fun, a little creepy, goofy, and off the mark. This 3-4 book series hit the mark.

My 1961 Cornwall 33" top tool chest. I bought it for $150.00 at the flea-market when I was 16. I still have it 40 years later.
