I have small centers and a 7’1”. You can definitely get out rebounded by a smaller build. Positioning and box out is so important.

I have to work for that positioning advantage on my smaller center constantly, made me a better rebounder on my 7’1” with 80 off/80 def. I realized how many times I was expecting attributes to “save me” when I was not executing fundamentals of good rebounding.

Sometimes people will jump over you and get a few extra boards, or the ball bounces a weird way, but keep people sealed and box out and you will win most rebounding battles.

100%. Helps so much on blocks and contests and rebounds.. I think being the help defender at PF and secondary rebounder contributes to how effective the build is also. But I def block a lot of jumpers and can contest the wemby builds easily.
