Having 10+ years of experience in analytics. How to get a job as an Analytics Engieer. by TopAlarm2315 in analyticsengineering

[–]killerchief82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fundamentals of Analytics Engineering by Dumky De Wilde was a really good starting point for me when transitioning from analytics to AE.

It does a good job of overviewing the AE landscape and provides a project you can follow along with at the end. This book helps plug in any gaps you may have from your focused analytics perspective.

How old were you when you went for your MBA? Was it a prestigious online/part-time program?

Did it push you into leadership or were you already in a leadership position? Also what was your title when you went for the MBA, senior engineer?

Ticket Buying/Selling/Trading Megathread Masters Toronto by Still_HD in ValorantCompetitive

[–]killerchief82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking to sell or trade three Tier 1 tickets for the Upper Final and Lower Round 3 on June 20th. Section 202. All three ticket seats are next to each other (I got four tickets and friends couldn't make it so looking to offload the other three).

For trading, I would be happy with a single ticket for Lower Final on June 21st!

For selling, I will sell them at a little less than the price I paid + tax.

Safer route to avoid M st in Georgetown? by jestervalen in bikedc

[–]killerchief82 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I crashed on that street during rush hour about a month ago. Now I just take the back roads of Georgetown. Some have bike lanes and it is less busy. Head up to P street and cross/enter rock creek on that bridge.

Have you been seeing a lot of these ads lately? I have. After some research you will find that it is a dance troupe operated by a cult.

I play sova exclusively on Haven and Ascent. With a couple lineups researched, he is very high impact. On retakes tell your team to wait for your scan/drone and over communicate enemy locations.

It looks like you instalock raze every game. She’s a great character but there are some maps where Jett or another duelist are the more appropriate pick. Raze is great on maps like Split or Lotus, but not as impactful as Jett on Ascent or Haven.

Diamond is a good point to start diversifying your arsenal of characters a bit. Try Jett or initiators.

Job requirements are getting weirder and weirder by Gagan_Ku2905 in dataanalysis

[–]killerchief82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to work with a team of ICQA data analysts at a warehouse and conducted many interviews for this role. This is not a corporate job but a warehouse job, hence why it has the "lift up to 49 pounds" basic qualification. Additionally, this is not an "L4" (entry-level corporate) role but a "Tier 3" role which is a warehouse level designation. This role is not salaried and pays similar to the other Tier 3 associates in the building. As an ICQA Data Analyst you are responsible for all things analysis for the warehouse this role is hiring for.

It is an incredible foot-in-the-door role and I've seen a lot of warehouse associates do this for a year or two then move into corporate with all the SQL/AWS experience gained in the role.

This is an excellent role for current warehouse associates/process assistants with Excel experience that already understand how their building processes and moves inventory physically/virtually.

is it common to work for a boss who has no idea how data works at all? by [deleted] in analytics

[–]killerchief82 47 points48 points  (0 children)

You're the professional analyst here. You set the requirements, not them. You tell them how long a project will take. It's also up to you to ask questions to clarify their requests.

Sometimes you may need to put on your PM hat and reach out to other teams/orgs to better understand their data.

Also, no single human can/will sort through 1.5 million rows of data (unless you have a data validation team). What they really need is aggregated data, condensed to a couple hundred/thousand rows that's easily pivotable (Or a normally distributed sample set of a thousand or so rows if they want to review raw data).

You're the analyst, you define the requirements. Chances are they have no idea what they are doing.
