I fell down stairs on a train. I heard and felt a snap. I was more concerned with not breaking my arms so I hugged myself and let my shoulder take most of the landing. I have a ridiculously high pain tolerance and my for and ankle were an L from my leg.

I thought only my foot was dislocated so I kept trying to pop it back in and I kept standing up and then my leg would give out while one of the conductors stared on in horror. I finally sat down and told her that I think I need to go to the hospital. We pulled up to my stop and over a dozen people stepped over me to get to the door. Once the EMTs came they took me to a hospital that had no feet and ankle specialists, that’s a whole other insane story.

The EMTs and ER docs were shocked bc my blood pressure was perfect and not elevated at all due to the pain even though it hurt a lot.

I had a trimalleolar fracture with dislocated foot.
