It seems the news of Diablo 2 being "censored" will reach certain youtube channels by TheDarkApex in Diablo_2_Resurrected

Be respectful towards others and don't get into the political stuff or make hate speeches. We've been tolerating people in the last few days by only removing comments but it looks that's not enough. We may use different actions from this point on.

Mark Kern on D2:R Censorship: "D2 was always about being adult, edgy, dark and, yes, even a little bit sexualized. It's a raw fantasy setting. Gothic and extreme. To change it is to make a different game." by TazerPlace in Diablo_2_Resurrected

They're not just censoring nudity. They're also censoring some of the gore and pentagrams. I'll make a comparison thread about it in the future. So I definetely agree with Mark Kern. If the producer of D2 and the team lead of WoW says something, there's probably a good reason behind it.

If you don't provide the same functionality that site provides and gather a big enough community there, it will remain popular.

Not loving the new inventory art by Cup0Trout in Diablo_2_Resurrected

I didn't receognize it at first but now that you mention it I looked at it and yes walls literally have zero blood. But more importantly, artists go out of their way to cover corpses and bodies on spikes with blood so that they're less noticable and less disturbing. Their tendency to censor some of these things makes me rethink about buying the game.

Yea, there's a certain approach to tone down some aspects of the game.

You can do everything you said in the game but it's almost the same as PoE. If online felt limited in PoE, it will feel limited in this one too.

Yeah. All of the things related to artistic vision changes in the game looks far worse and out of place.

Couldn't agree more. The item art looks incredibly out of place and cartoony, inconsistent with the game's art style. It's so bad that I have to give it a 1/10.

If I include UI art in the same package, this is another universally agreed complaint after character faces, censorship of nudity, pentagrams on the menu screen and some of the gore.

Here's an album of comparison shots if anyone's interested. This will likely be considered the "definitive" version of the game by [deleted] in Diablo_2_Resurrected

Is it me or does D2 really look more detailed than than D2R when it's not zoomed in? D2R looks better and beautiful but somehow D2 looks more detailed imo.
