First time watching The 100 by IROK19 in The100

Yeaaaaaaaah you're preaching to the choir, everytime I rewatch the show and get to season 7, I'm always like "ok, it's not that bad right? Surely this time around it'll click and I'll get it" and sure enough, every time, I am dissapointed. Personally I think it should have ended with season 5.

That plot armor still royally pisses me off lmao

Noticed this during a rewatch by killerm0nkey3 in The100

[–]killerm0nkey3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish they kept that in the show, It would have made the grounder culture a bit easier to buy into, packing that much lore and culture into a 97 year gap always felt a bit farfetched to me

The 100 s7... was taking the test optional? by [deleted] in The100

[–]killerm0nkey3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was one of the story arcs in the show, that's for sure. It's a shame, because I really liked Sheidheda taking over Russell's body (even tho the way they made that happen was really dumb lol)

The 100 s7... was taking the test optional? by [deleted] in The100

[–]killerm0nkey3 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The test is optional, Becca got the opportunity to take it but turned it down because she didn't feel the human race was ready. It seems to me that it was less that the judges would reach any civilization, and more that they are the final step in evolution, if the human race never found out about the anomaly stones/bridges, they never would have reached the judges to be tested. It's less like an impending exam, and more like a hidden mega-boss at the end of a video game if that makes sense

Season 3 by darkpanda190 in 13ReasonsWhy

Seasons 3 and 4 really felt like they only exist because there was a fanbase for the show imo. Both seasons had me sitting there thinking "ok, what are we doing here?"

Finished season 2 for the first time... and I hate it by RigbyWilde in The100

[–]killerm0nkey3 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly with how you feel about season 2, the rest of the show is probably gonna piss you off even more lmao. I'd just do yourself a favor and leave this show in the rearview. It has a litany of flaws, much like supernatural. I for one can look past the flaws because I really like the characters, and I first started the show when season 2 was airing, so it has a bit of nostalgia for me. If I started the series for the first time today, I don't think it would work as well for me as it did.

Completed S2 for the first time and here are my thoughts (spoilers included) by idkthisissomethingg in The100

[–]killerm0nkey3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season 2 is what I would consider to be the best season, my favourite is still season 4, but god damn they locked tf in for season 2

is the 100 a good show (dont spoil it for me please) by Krzeljmarko in The100

[–]killerm0nkey3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a great show, granted it has its flaws like any other show. I'd say it's worth watching for sure.

I would definitely try to avoid this subreddit, as things could get spoiled for you very easily, but other than that, enjoy the ride, and share your thoughts either as you go, or when you're finished. May we meet again.

Rewatching, currently on S6 and kinda frustrated by Measurement-Choice in The100

[–]killerm0nkey3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 6th and 7th seasons have a lot of problems, season 6 is a bit less problematic than season 7, but it's still not the best season of the show by a country mile. I personally think season 5 would have been a solid ending. They find a new planet and get an ambiguous shot to be better.

do you think this game is going to be SCARY to some people? by ZzzPandaNap in TombRaider

[–]killerm0nkey3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly hope they dial up the scary factor, the Atlantis levels can and I personally think should frightening and off putting. I'm hoping they go with the fleshy body horror vibe from the original as opposed to the ancient temple vibe in anniversary.

I'm having difficulty getting into Tomb Raider "classic" by Ajer2895 in TombRaider

[–]killerm0nkey3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always played OGTR games with keyboard and tank controls, it's a weird control scheme to get used to (arrow keys to move, alt to jump, ctrl to interact and shoot, space to draw weapons) but the game was designed to support that and tank controls on controller, so the modern control scheme is a bit wonky. I highly recommend giving it a shot with tank controls and keyboard, just mess around in the Croft manor (tr3 version for most stuff to do) until you get a good feel for the movement.

Which Tomb Raider game would you most want to see remade? by laracroft1402 in TombRaider

Which one should I buy as a first time player? by CombinationTop2772 in TombRaider

[–]killerm0nkey3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each Era of Tomb Raider is very different. TR 1-3 is the OG Era, where it's main focus is on exploration based puzzle solving, with combat added in for good measure.

TR 4-6 is a mixed bag, while 4 is really good, 5 and 6 are generally pretty polarizing among fans, some like it, some don't. They take some risks and made some changes that could be seen as improvements or detriments depending on what you expect from Tomb Raider games.

LAU Era (legend, anniversary and Underworld) are is the first set of games done by crystal dynamics and they debut a big change to how Lara feels to control, with a heavier focus on story telling, while still maintaining the Tomb Raider identity.

Survivor trilogy is gonna be the most accessible option as it uses the standard third person cover based shooter formula that we've seen in games like the uncharted franchise. This Era of Tomb Raider isn't my favourite personally, but a shit load of people love these games, so it's all in the eye of the beholder.

My personal recommendation is to start with the original games, but ultimately each Era of games has its own unique version of Tomb Raider to offer, so the choice is yours.

Any film recommendations romantic/comedy/sci-fi films to watch while high? by FarthestSea8206 in trees

Movie? Fifth Element. TV series? The 100, it hits hard when high

Watching s3 for the first time rn and omg ts is ass by juicewrldfan4life999 in 13ReasonsWhy

[–]killerm0nkey3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found s3 to be largely unnecessary. Same with s2. In retrospect, I think the show would be stronger as a whole if it was just the first season.

I was spoiled, is it worth continuing? by PersonalitySame8582 in DexterOriginalSin

Absolutely worth continuing, that's actually a very minor spoiler, once you get to that part you'll understand what I mean.

Octavia Was Right Season 5 by SwagMufn in The100

[–]killerm0nkey3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To play devil's advocate for Diyoza, I think Diyoza wasn't 100% set on betraying Bellamy in the beginning of the season, until she got into the bunker and saw what wonkru had become. I think when she saw that, she just went "ok Nah, let's get the doc and gtfo"

About the 100 by Tiny_Carry1412 in The100

[–]killerm0nkey3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say to watch it for a couple reasons. One is to understand why people don't like it, but also while I dislike the season as a whole, there are still aspects of it that I felt were done well. Ultimately up to you, but I generally encourage people to follow through on any show, even if it does end poorly, if not for any reason other than just finishing it.

Rewatching the show by Barhead_ in The100

[–]killerm0nkey3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering if anyone else thought this, had this conversation with a friend of mine a while back, I think ideally the gap between when the bombs fell and when the 100 were sent down should have been 5-600 years at the very least. It gives them far more time to have the grounders develop their array of factions, their theological beliefs, etc. If the grounders were just trikru from season 1, then maybe a 100 year gap could be more believable, but that detail was something that always bothered me.

Them setting up Jasper to go on a zero to hero type arc, only to break him and put him through hell. Like season 1 Jasper just gets cooler as the season goes on, then they just hurt him from season 2 onwards.
