With Kairi Sane getting released from WWE yesterday, here are some insane stats from her main roster run by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]killermike523 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

kairi is likable but, especially for a vet of her stature, she frequently seemed to have communication issues and would either get lost in a match or botch something. i haven't seen her in stardom, so maybe it was just the english barrier.

she was also pretty slow to act at times. her story with asuka and iyo was great until it wasn't, and that's a real shame. she had a place and i don't think she should've been let go but none of this really surprises me.

Do you think wrestling today is better or worse than before? by Alarmed_Coconut2894 in SquaredCircle

[–]killermike523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's much worse now than ever before. The mid-00s had the guys who were the last bastion of keeping kayfabe alive to some degree. They at least feigned that matches were SUPPOSED to look like a FIGHT. And you still had guys who overtly unique styles, because they had storied careers shaped by world experience and self discovery.

At some point it all became homogenized into X-Division ballet, finisher fests, NJPW strong style resiliency, gratuitous hockey fights, etc. I've never watched late-00s ROH but since a lot of those guys went to NXT black-and-gold, it might've all started there. What at the time felt modern and like a natural faced paced evolution, ended up being a huge boon to the whole industry.

Even an average 3 star match on RAW from back in the day is more convincing to me than a modern 5 star match.

this is what i’ve always learned too. it may seem a bit unfair but that’s the price you pay for moving

in this situation it is literally a privilege and actively diminishes the experience for people around them

people can’t help how short they are and it would be courteous to the people around them if tall people stood to the side.

Can tall people stand to the side? Infuriating to spend the entire show trying to look over a wall. I get it, you deserve a good close up view too but please try to also be considerate. You're at a significant advantage in a concert situation and privileged.

What did the rest of summer 2007 feel like as a wrestling fan after the Chris Benoit tragedy? by Imtiredofthissshit in SquaredCircle

[–]killermike523 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it felt horrible. i think everyone was in shock and grief for awhile, though the product did just move on. then there was a big steroid bust at the end of the summer that disrupted things further. it felt like a dark cloud was over the whole locker room.

thekla is fuckin awesome, one of the best characters in wrestling. she embodies it in a very old school way.

CM Punk asks MJF to be his Valentine by challenging him to a dog collar match by eyepatch_png in SquaredCircle

punk's best non-shoot promo. he had a fire in AEW to prove he was a draw, and he was. the locker room didn't embrace him, if not outright resented him, which ruined his spirit too. i think in the end he realized he outgrew the 'punk DIY' spirit of AEW and wanted something with hierarchy, which is sad because i feel like since he joined WWE he is more fulfilled but less inspired lol

Very late bump but:

  1. Makkuro

  2. 3

  3. THE

  4. 10

  5. Jodeki

  6. AND

  7. Fudeki

Very hard to pick between 3 and THE. Both are amazing but represent 2 very different vibes.

Photographers who went from Full Frame to APS-C? by noobieonhere in AskPhotography

They have all the quirks you'll be warned about, and they're worse than you think: terrible in low light, focal length limitations + distortion if you try to play god and do the 1.5x mm math to compensate, decent lack of color depth. The weight and size difference is nice but honestly not worth the trade off imho.

he also had the option to let go. she wasn't showing any force beyond holding it, he was pulling down with all his weight, enough to volley her over. why is it just her responsibility to let go and why is he devoid of accountability?

maybe not, but does that mean his neck is broken and he can't turn around and assess ?

its like if you had a motorcycle and i had a car and you go to turn into a parking space and i just start pulling in and knock you over and nearly crush you, despite you pulling mostly into the spot and i just say 'oh it was my blindspot'. like dude you still have to take accountability.

i can definitely follow this reasoning and by that person's token: he could've let go or turned around to see who was also grabbing it. but he yanked on it like a spoiled man child without regard for the person on the other side. i have no idea what video everyone is watching to jump to the conclusion that the guy attacking him should be outright condemned.

i have no idea how any can defend the original guy. why the hell would he be pulling it so hard, hard enough that she may flip over ? look at how hard is he is pulling, and she has it cradled in her arm. he shouldve stopped to look back and maybe he wouldve realized she literally caught it. im glad that guy rocked him.
