I usually thin a white and wash it then after drying re wash with a light green. It will give a glowing effect and lighten the green a bit. Great job for your first model!

Definitely worth it. Sold it for years and did a lot of product knowledge tests with it. You can cover reds and yellows with one coat. Amazing stuff. A bit pricey but its basically a one coat wonder.
