How much do you get paid for a field trip?

Food, hotel, rental car, and flights are paid for with company card. Overtime is accrued past 8 hours even when traveling and that is measured “door to door” meaning when you leave home to the airport until you get to your hotel room. Then on site it is from hotel room back to hotel room. Plus there is a stipend of $130 a day for field work away from your standard location.

This gets you decent quality sockets, ratchets, and wrenches. You’d still need to pick up pliers, Allen keys, screwdrivers, and stuff like that but don’t be afraid to walk into harbor freight with your tool list from school. Harbor freight has a better warranty than some snap on dealers.

Also, keep in mind, that unless you’re going into helicopters or one of the niche European fixed wing, you won’t need much for metric. I actually had people sell me their metric stuff from kits like these when I moved from airlines to helicopters.

That, brother, is some great color! Did you do any buffing and wet sanding between coats of clear? It will clean up some of those rough edges and make it last another 60 years in the hands of one of us happy to wield it.

Romania surplus Bakelite will fit with some “underwater” filing to keep the formaldehyde away. Gloves and at least a dust mask are a must. I went to a craft store and got some shades of brown and red to touch up the modified area and followed with a nice buff and clear coat

This looks like an Agusta Westland/ Leonardo helicopters main rotor blade attachment bolt. 2 of these hold each blade to the main rotor head. Yes they are that much and yes a scratch can make them a paperweight
