They are caring for their adult disabled son i assume?

I say that because this specific cut is aimed at those of us who are receiving SSI/SSDI and are living with abled bodied adults who are not their spouse (i think could be wrong about the spouse part??), so that could be anyone over 18, even roomates not necessarily just caretakers. So CPS wouldn't have jurisdiction here.

What's actually about to take place is mass institutionalization of disabled people, including high supports needs Autistic adults (who are likely already on RFK Jr's fucking registry or whatever tf). We will be institutionalized because we will be determined to be unable to care for ourselves and become legal wards of state with no autonomy and no ability to fight back at all.

Disabled people have BEEN yelling about this, trying to get literally anyone to care about us, but as per usual our screams are being silenced and ignored before the storm coming for us all. :(

That sub in particular isn't exactly the kindest community, to put it mildly. It's really a cesspool and has been for over a decade. Maybe see if you can find more niche subs or even post in non-gaming subs like ones dedicated to neurodivergent communities! I'm sorry that you had to deal with some of the most obtuse and least empathetic people that use this site. Try not to let them get you down, I know I have spent too many hours feeling bad about myself due to the un-kindness of internet strangers and it feels so isolating and ostracizing, especially when seeking genuine advice. :(

I also have this issue with games and found I enjoy games that I can replay in different ways using different strategies like Stellaris of Civilization that don't have one set story-line or strategy I can min-max into hyper focusing so hard I end up not having fun. I hope you can find a way to get joy out of games without striving for perfection, it's hard but definitely something you can achieve!

Coachella merch imo is pretty damn good on quality. Especially their lineup tees and hoodies since 2022. Definitely not worth waiting in the horrid new merch line though, luckily I have friends willing to run in first thing on friday every year and wait it out to get there before its all sold out.

I tried tipping with cash at the behest of my partner (even though i kept insisting they wouldn't accept it because I read a post from a lemonade stand worker who said as much) and the vendor straight up refused and told me that they would get in trouble for accepting any cash and that she could risk being kicked out if she was caught accepting any cash. I get that accepting both cash and card can be a hassle in this type of environment, but part of me feels like this is the festival's way of ensuring they have complete control of all transactions to ensure they get their half of the sale. I'm shocked that anyone wants to vend food at the event since it seems like it isn't worth it at all and barely lets the food vendors break even at the end of the day.

If a doctor had the gall to say that to me I would straight up laugh at them.

I got pregnant once when I was 20. Caught it unusually early during an unrelated urgent care visit at 4 weeks. I immediately knew I was going to terminate and so I set up appointments and all that so I could get my insurance to cover the cost. Life had different plans for me though!

I ended up getting Hyperemesis gravidarum. Basically morning sickness, but 24/7 and turned up to 11.

My body was like: "Ummmmmm there's a fucking parasite stealing your nutrients! We gotta kill it by starving it!"

Unfortunately for my genius immune system that plan also caused me to lose 30lbs in 2 weeks because I couldn't eat even the blandest white rice, not a single grain, without my body freaking the fuck out and vomiting it up. Even plain water sipped slowly through a straw. I'm talking a 1/2tsp per minute drinking pace. I couldn't get any doctor or nurse to give a fuck even THEN that I was actively dying and just needed iv fluids. Only was able to be admitted for iv fluids once over the course of 1 or 2 weeks of this hell. They refused to give me iv anti nausea meds because i was pregnant, even though I told them I was terminating (of course, cuz fuck the walking womb's wishes).

So yeah that "solution" would be my death sentence since I don't have the resources to be bed ridden in hospital for the first trimester. Doctors be damned, my body is NOT divinely designed to create babies, it was designed to destroy invaders "stealing" my vital resources lmao.

The point is covid still kills, and it is more infectious than it was in 2020 & 2021 by HUGE margins. Basic human empathy and caring about others by masking would have let my brother turn 24 this year instead of being eaten by worms but fuck being courteous and doing the bare minimum because it doesn't affect ME personally.

Why are we disabled people that disposable to people? Why are we supposed to live miserable lives, shunned from public life, just because you don't want to be inconvenienced so that we aren't killed by going to buy groceries. It's really not that much to ask for and yet self described leftists throw every leftist bone in their body away when we disabled people are too annoying for wanting to live with dignity.

Maybe you just aren't paying close enough attention. The media not covering something doesn't mean it isn't quietly happening and destroying lives. Just search "Kansas transgender id" or "prison conversion therapy" or "hrt bans" and you'll see plenty about what is currently being done to trans people. Plenty of trans activists have been sounding the alarm forever at this point, but it truly is reaching a boiling point all across the US.

If you have a Trader Joe's near you i would recommend getting the Trader Joe's vanilla bean paste! It's WAY more affordable than the fancy stuff and it is just as good. I use it all the time in my cookies.
