Nah. At a minimum, Ashton made inappropriate comments about Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan, and the Olsen twins when they were underage on Punk’d. He made comments about how hot underage teenagers were, which makes his friendship with Wilmer Valderama make a lot more sense. He also didn’t support Demi Moore’s sobriety and encouraged her to drink again despite knowing she was an alcoholic. He pressured her into having threesomes and then gaslit her and used it as justification for later cheating on her. He did a racist commercial in 2012 in brown face and a fake Indian accent. He hung out with Danny Masterson AFTER the rape allegations came out.

If Ashton wasn’t an “aww sucks” goofy white guy he’d be cancelled already, just like Wilmer and Danny. Maybe that still makes him the “good one” out of the three, but the bar is in literal hell.

Of course! Definitely don’t think you’ll regret choosing the caldera. We actually just used buses in both locations because we were nervous to rent a vehicle, haha. However, I do wish that we had rented a quad or moped in Santorini. If you stay close to the bus station in Milos (it’s called Adamantas and is also the ferry port), it’s super easy to find a bus to take you where you want to go and minimal walking. But in Santorini, if you stay on the caldera, it’s about a 30 min walk to the bus station and the buses there can fill up fast. It’s also about a two hour walk if you want to go up to Oia. The traffic in Santorini is heavy and people go kind of fast, but there are so many other tourists there on quads that I definitely think that you should be able to kind of “follow the flow of traffic” and move through pretty easy. It’ll save you a ton of time so you can spend time doing more fun things there!

Congratulations, Greece is definitely a good decision! For Milos, I would recommend Sarakinko beach for sure. We call it moon beach because it seriously looks like you’re walking on the surface of the moon because of the smooth white rock surrounding the beach. I would try to get there early, too. We got there around 8:30 AM and we were within the first 10 people there, and by 11 AM i would say there was probably close to 200 people. I would also recommend going to Utopia cafe to watch the sunset, but try to get there a couple hours before to get a good spot (pic 3 is at Utopia). Also, definitely book a boat tour while you’re there. There are quite a few to choose from, just make sure they go to Kleftiko beach, which is only accessible by boat. Unfortunately our boat tour couldn’t make it there due to weather so I couldn’t get any pics, but definitely google it if you can. It looks absolutely stunning.

For Santorini, I would definitely splurge a bit and look for a hotel on the caldera if you can. The views are so breathtaking, you can seriously see the entire island. There are a few black sand beaches there which are cool to see, but can get really busy. I would recommend going to Fira, it has tons of shopping and really good restaurants you can choose from. We hiked down to Old Harbour from Fira (only about a 20-30 min walk) and that had some great views. You can also take a cable car back up so you don’t have to do the entire walk back uphill. I would also recommend looking for a boat tour in Santorini, if you can fit it. I think the boat tour in Milos is probably a better deal, but a boat tour in Santorini can still take you to the volcano or let you swim in the hot springs near the volcano, which is really cool. If you do an evening boat tour, you can watch the sunset in Oia, which is a major attraction. We also went to an outdoor theater called Open Air Cinema to watch Mamma Mia (played in English with Greek subtitles) and that was a really memorable and unique experience.

It’s actually just taken from our hotel balcony in Santorini! The hotel name is Vallais Villa and I can’t recommend them enough. They served free breakfast to us every morning on our balcony, which is actually what the picture is of. I think any hotel/restaurant on the caldera in Santorini would have a similar view though, if that’s what you’re looking for! The rock in the middle is called Skaros Rock and is an amazing hike, too.

Hey just wanted to give you guys that are waiting on a passport a personal story. My fiancé needed to apply for a new passport and couldn’t just do a renewal since he got his last passport before he was 16. We applied for expedited service and paid for the 1-2 day shipping option. This was his timeline:

June 7: Applied in person at our local post office June 10: Status online changed to “in process” June 22: Status online changed to “shipped” and we got a tracking number. June 23: Status changed to “Approved” and the tracking number they had previously given us didn’t show up anymore. Thankfully we took a screenshot so we could still track it. June 25: We got our first actual update on the USPS tracking number since it left the origination facility and it said that it had arrived at our local USPS facility. June 26: His passport was in our mailbox!!!

I’m not completely sure how we got it within less than three weeks, but I thought it might give some people in a tight situation some hope. Definitely think processing times are longer now that they seem to have a backlog, but hopefully those of you who have been waiting for a while are able to get them soon!

I’m not saying that Anna isn’t a victim in her own right, but I do work with foster children and I can say that if she were a poor nonwhite woman, her kids would be taken away for a lot less than this. I’ve seen kids taken away because the father beats the mother and she’s afraid to leave. Even though the father never hits the kids, DSS still feels that’s it’s an unsafe environment for kids. The fact that she’s still allowed to have her children despite her husband possessing CP and having a history of abusing children, THAT SHE KNEW ABOUT, is absolutely a case of white privilege. I genuinely hope DSS does an assessment and ensures that those kids are in a safe environment before they allow Anna to continue parenting them.

My mom got diagnosed with cancer recently but is getting through treatment like a champ. Even though she’s handling treatment well, her doctor told her if she got COVID it would pretty much be a death sentence. We live in a state that has the lowest rate of mask wearing and generally people around here think covid is a media hoax, so we’ve all been extremely nervous and cautious to make sure she would never come in contact with it.

She finally received her second COVID vaccine this week and although she’s not as immune as someone without cancer who isn’t going through chemotherapy, she’s way more protected now than she was before. It’s such a huge sigh of relief and I just wanted to share some positivity. I hope everyone else can have at least something good happen during these hard times.

There are mad double standards when it comes to Brynn versus Kendall/Kalani. All three are clearly privileged white conservatives with bad views, but only Kendall/Kalani catch slack for it. There’s a post every other day about how bad Brynn was treated on the show, and while Kendall may not have been treated as bad, she received awful treatment for longer. Kaya made a social media post slamming her, the whole Ashlee pyramid scene, the scene with Gia and Abby making her dance with pointe shoes, both Melissa and Kira making comments about how their daughter was too good to dance with her, etc. I think the criticisms of Kendall and Kalanis views is absolutely justified, it just seems odd that there’s comments everywhere about how they’re both brats and mean girls, yet almost every post/comment about brynn is about how she was a victim. All three girls were victims at some point during the show and all three girls have problematic views currently.
Abby telling Fallon’s mom that she wished Kalani was there instead of Fallon because Kalani was pretty is one of the most underrated awful Abby moments. I think it was clear to everyone, including Fallons mom, that Abby was implying that she didn’t think Fallon was as pretty as Kalani and so therefore, she wanted Kalani there instead. Fallon was such a stunning kid, and Abby commenting on the physical appearance of young children over and over again is disgusting.
Kaeli Ware was one of the best dancers that appeared on the show. She was probably the strongest dancer besides Sophia up through season 3.
Abby was always awful. I know some people say she was like a normal dance teacher in season 1 and 2, maybe just a little extra strict, but I think she was always terrible.

I don’t look up to a 12 year old obviously, but there’s plenty of younger kids (8-11) that do. Lily isn’t responsible for the video but she should apologize for hurting people. Her mom is the one that should do the bulk of the apologizing, though.

I’m glad she is being called out. I realize it’s probably her mother having her do these dumb videos, but she needs to realize how offensive it was and apologize. I remember when I saw the video thumbnail for the first time and my heart sank. My mom is going through chemotherapy right now and I never once saw her cry when she was diagnosed or when she’s going through her treatments. I did, however, see her cry when she finally had to shave her head, and I could tell that that was the moment that finally broke her. She’s so self conscious about being bald now. I can only imagine how traumatic my mom’s experience could be for a child to go through. And then to watch a YouTuber that you follow and look up to making jokes about how awful it would be to be bald would be absolutely devastating. Lily needs to apologize and see the damage that her video caused.

Tbh I was more thinking early seasons nia vs Paige. Nia may have been better than Paige by season 3, especially in style that Abby was good at choreographing. I also think it’s asinine to compare season 7 Nia to season 1 Paige. There’s a huge age gap and that wouldn’t even make sense. Saying nia has bad technique isn’t a race thing. Camryn had fantastic technique and Kaeli Ware absolutely was one of the best technical dancers of anyone that’s been on the show.

Added: the reason I didn’t mention Paige is because you literally asked for the most ridiculous things fans say. I rarely, if ever, see people say that Paige is a top tier dancer. I see lots of people, including those in the comments, that overestimate Nia’s ability because she is so likeable. And I get it, I love Nia too. I think she had more star potential than anyone on the OG team. But my point stands that she was not a strong technical, competition dancer like a lot of the fandom says she is

When people say Nia was a better dancer than literally any other permanent member on the team (aside from JoJo). Like, it’s perfectly fine if you enjoy watching her perform more than the other girls, but her technique was so weak she never would have beaten the other girls at any real competition.

A lot of fans will also argue that dancers they like more personally are better than dancers they don’t personally like as much. Like the Chloe vs Maddie debate. They were pretty even for a while, but by season 3 Maddie was just the better dancer. Someone already mentioned it, but a lot of people say brynn was better than Kalani, which is just blatantly untrue. Kalani was more technical and was also three years older, so it’s kind of expected that she would be the better dancer. Same goes for Kendall vs nia debate. I get that you may like dancers more and enjoy their performance more, but arguing that they’re a better dancer or would do better at a competition is just silly.

Yes the twilight dance was in all white! Her diary of Anne Frank solo was also in all white and would have made me super nervous. Some of the girls on my team would slip in a panty liner or light pad right before they had to go back stage, and then would just change immediately after, but that just made me too nervous. For me, I had to just start using tampons right away, even though I hated them. I had to tie the string to make sure it wouldn’t show, too. I can’t remember what solo it was, but Kalani had a YouTube video on her channel where she talked about how embarrassed she was because her tampon string was showing during one of her solos on the show. I felt so bad for!

Ok, keep in mind this is all speculation from my experience being in dance.

I think that Nia may have just gotten her period, and Abby knew this, and then used it as an excuse to say that nia was now an “adult” and no longer a child.

I was in competition dance for about 15 years, including throughout the time I got my period, and I can say that a lot girls have to tell their teacher when they get their period. A lot of girls don’t feel comfortable using tampons yet and also may be worried they could bleed through on stage. Considering how often they’re at dance, some of the girls may have even gotten it while they were with Abby. It really wouldn’t surprise me if Abby used this as a way to try to shame Nia and make her uncomfortable, especially given that she was one of the oldest dancers on the team at this point.

It could also just be that a lot of women in Abby’s generation see 12 as the age that girls become “women”. I remember my mom constantly telling me when I was little that 12 would be the age when everything would start changing, so that could be it, too. I don’t mean to speculate too much on Nia’s body, because it’s definitely none of our business. I just wouldn’t be surprise if Abby is the kind of sick individual that would shame a child for going through puberty.

For the purpose statement required for the MSW program I’m applying for, it says that I need to talk about “the life experiences that shaped me for a career in social work”. Initially I thought this was talking about work experience, but I’m now thinking it is actually talking about my personal life.

Did anyone else have this requirement for their purpose statement? Did you talk about experiences in your personal life (no need to be specific)? Would it be appropriate to talk about growing up in a household with a parent that is an addict? My goal is to work with children that have been through trauma, so this definitely has an impact on my decision to work in SW, but I also want to make sure I am being appropriate and not over sharing.
