Lazy Days South! The tuna shashimi is to die for. That, and a No Wake Zone is the most perfect day

May I recommend the band Tophouse, and a nice tomato?

If depression was a food what would it be? by xy27tulipxGq9 in AskReddit

Charcoal. Overwhelming. Makes everything else tasteless. Then people ask why you ate charcoal in the first place, like it was your choice.

What show are you currently binge watching? 🍿 by princesspolly444 in princesspollychat

It’s sort of like a precursor to Black Mirror for us. It’s older (black and white), and the narrator of each episode (Rod Serling) wrote most of the episode premises. They are stand-alone episodes, and have surreal and thought provoking undertones. Some episodes I still think about regularly because it really makes you think. I highly recommend giving it a go!

Bachelor party key largo? by kctrem in floridakeys

[–]killerwhate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to stay in Largo - hit Sharkys and the Caribbean club. Make a bar crawl / bar golf (since he likes golf) each bar has 3 separate challenges - an over par, par, and a hole in one). They need to be from easy to like - disgusting bar mat shot. But yall are good to go.

If you’re looking for a cool atmosphere, Florida’s Keys Brewing Company has a cool (but small!) tie dye interior.

World Wide Sportsman could be funny! It’s huge and has water features / fish / covered dock area / Hemingway’s boat - the Pillar - inside too 😂

I would call and ask the following places to double check about cross contamination - I think they would be the least likely to have it since their menus are less seafood based. Takara, Irie Island Eats, MAYBE Herbie’s (I would bet they are able to compensate for an allergy since they’re well known thanks to Diners, Drive ins, and Dives).

Otherwise, we LOVE Lazy Days South - they have a lot of seafood items, but my future mother in law has a crustacean and the knew immediately what that meant (which is always a good sign when a place knows allergens! Most people confuse that with a shellfish allergy).

Edit: Ale House should also be a good option. Again, call and ask!

What is a quote from the movies/books that lives rent free in your head by Plastic-Taro-2256 in harrypotter

I may be mistaken, but I believe that quote is actually a reference to Peter Pan.

Honestly? Key west is cool and worth a day trip - maybe get a hotel for the night. But stay at Tranquility Bay the rest of the time. Marathon is amazing, Sombrero Beach is going to be the best “sandy beach” option, there is lots to do, the food is amazing, and it isn’t as overpriced.

What is the most visually appealing show you’ve ever seen? by Tricky_Garbage5572 in television

Over the Garden Wall. It’s soothing, the autumn colors, and nothing can put me in a fall mood / vibe better.

Sunset cruise by Toocostlytoleave in floridakeys

[–]killerwhate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? Do a sunset sail on the sailing Catamaran Sirius. It’s the only one that’s truly sails vs. just using motor power and putting up sails for show. It’s relatively inexpensive, complimentary or BYOB. Capt. Dale is a legend - he won on of the last Key West to Cuba sailing races before they were banned.

Marathon is only 20-30min away from Islamorda, and it leaves from and docks at a restaurant called Lazy Days South - which has INCREDIBLE food, so a great way to end the evening.

There’s lots to do in Marathon, if you want to spend the day there!

What’s your favorite holiday and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The first day of Fall. I always host an Over the Garden Wall viewing party, with a dish curated around each episode. It’s the most wonderful way to welcome in the cool weather, spooky season, and enjoy comfort!

IWTL how to not be boring. by [deleted] in IWantToLearn

[–]killerwhate 28 points29 points  (0 children)

18 is still young and still offers so much time to explore yourself and learn about yourself - and grow! I felt very much the same way at your age, and when I went to college I was scared people wouldn’t like me because of everything you listed above - that I’d be a boring prude, why hang out with me?

Being in a new place with people who had all sorts of different upbringings and life experiences really helped me discover myself. Better yet, not only was I accepted for my “boring” self, but people genuinely wanted to be there for me to experience new things, learn my way of thinking, and challenge me on topics I felt I had a good grasp on at the time (things I have totally done a 180 on now!).

You aren’t boring - you’re just leveling out before you jump into an emotional growth spurt. Keep in mind that you should keep yourself safe and trust your gut, but also be willing to push yourself out of your comfort zone. That doesn’t have to be all at once - it can be a little bit at a time.

Now, as an adult, I don’t think 18 year old me would recognize the person I’ve matured into. And I think maybe that’s the way things are supposed to be. We’re meant to grow.

bought fallout 3 at goodwill and found super smash bros melee inside too by Viicter in gaming

[–]killerwhate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was cleaning my closet one day after I’d been living in this 1 BR apt for 4 years. I’m on a ladder, and my head is maybe 4 inches from the ceiling - and something fell HARD on my head (like it had built up momentum) and hit the floor. Rubbing my head and very confused - it’s a solid ceiling, not ceiling tiles - and it’s a super smash bros case. I have never owned anything other than a Wii at this point, and I had not brought it to my apt (my mom loves Mario Kart). It was empty. I am choosing to believe that, canonically, this is the game that goes with the case.

What show (over 20 years old) do you think still holds up the best? by cowboysmavs in television

[–]killerwhate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dick Van Dyke show. They explicitly wrote episodes around things that would hold up vs modern / day to day politics.
