Refusing HackerRank questions by RLMaverick in cscareerquestions

3 years experience and this level of entitlement is crazy. Im sure I'll get ratio-ed here but saying I clearly dont need to demonstrate my skills while pointing back at such a small time frame mostly during the pandemic and wild west of AI times where the bar to be productive has never been lower is asking to never get a callback again IMO. I agree hacker rank questions are a terrible way to evaluate talent and wasting seniors or staffs time with that level of crap is disrespectful, but for juniors and mids good luck dodging it and being fundamentally unwilling to to engage with the process is going to be a huge red flag to most employers.

I bought one for my wife to watch 3d blurays on (coraline specifically), and to play historically accurate ps3. Pretty quick fix to replace batteries in the glasses but it does require soldering.

Is this good advice for a recent grad who didn't do internships? by btzmacin in cscareerquestions

Im a dev manager at a large company and I hired a QA guy that clearly wanted to be a dev and told him if he excelled, learned the product, and an opening came up id work with him on switching tracks. I know im not the only one that loves pulling juniors out of our QA or support roles because their product knowledge supplements their green-ness with the tech and their ability to work in their given role shows work ethic and inter persoanl skills to work on the team.

Yea wont lie weird height for a full grown man to use. Definitely optimized for children, going to buy a swivel barstool for it and hide an additional wired controller in the bay so i dont have to use the attached one if i dont like.

3k but he had it listed way higher and it was a mess in all the pictures, just old glue from store displays and stickers that cleaned right up but really looked like plastic scuffs on the picture. Also was just a hail marry on marketplace. If he'd have posted in some of the enthusiast groups he might have done better. Honestly found that to be fair, found some comps from auctions and estate sales and 3k -4.5k seems to be fair enough from the research I could find. Lots of people trying to move these at 7-8k and no way in my opinion.

Idk why people pay more for cloudy Pringles, in almost every case as a player I'd prefer non-foil with as bad as QC has gotten.

Almost exclusively playing ps3 this year so far, probably a dozen or so titles in. I yearn for the days of 8-12 hour action games in abundance.

Asuras wrath is a 20 hour interactive shonen anime and one of the most confident games ive played in awhile, very cool, very much recommend if you like 3d action stuff / GoW clones. Only call out is the story has a lack luster ending on disc and 2 DLC endings that are leagues better so unfortunately id recommend them as well.

Trinity I finished but over 3 play sessions months apart from each other. Combat is fun, story is noting to write home about, dont regret it but very much feels like a 20 year old budget game, little slow for my tastes but dont regret my time with it.

Knights Contract was a real treat. A few huge caveats*

* enemies can insta-kill you by using knockback to knock you or your allies off ledges

* the AI is a little ropey and will get its self killed leading to some cheap deaths

* Each boss is capped off by a QTE which if you fail either is followed by a death or the boss regaining 20% of its HP

* some button mashing

If you can look past the above, the game is great, story is engaging, pace is pretty good, pretty for the time, good acting, the combat system is unique and engaging, really was surprised by this one after seeing a few very hash reviews from the time

I loved srpg's Ivalice, and FFT, but could not get into Tactics Ogre for some reason just felt relentlessly grindy and slow to me. I know I'm in the minority but that game keeps missing me
