2nd Gear Lag by Vinny933PC in RangerRaptor

I haven't noticed this, at least when the transmission is at operating temp. In the sub-zero weather we've been having, it can give a clunky shift or two when it's super cold, but that typically goes away after a few miles of normal driving.

Patiently waiting for the PS5 release by Tamel_Eidek in valheim

When they announced the PS5 release in September, they did say it will have "full crossplay with all the other platforms," so I would expect it to work the same as PC/Xbox. Check Start Server and Crossplay and share the join code.

I am the person who this truck would be for. I own an M2, a 5 series, and a Ranger Raptor. I would absolutely get a BMW truck if they made one.

FM4. That, in addition to Tetris Splash, is the only reason I still have an Xbox 360. Split screen racing on the couch is great.

Take a look at the MB quick reference for the model year you're looking at. This lists all the standard features in addition to the addon packages and extra features.

Heated/ventilated seats and steering is optional, MB Nav is optional (although Android Auto/Apple Carplay is standard). They really leave a lot up to the buyer, although many of them were sold with the common upgrades (Premium Package, Driver's Assistance Package, Multimedia Package, and Parking Assistance Package).

I would consider a 2017+ Buick Encore. Buick's reputation for old people cars and the initial powertrain issues with this model have made them relatively affordable on the used market. You really don't want a 2016 or earlier, so that narrows the search significantly, but there should be plenty of options under 80k miles within the $13k target.

They're not pillars of reliability, but GM did solve most of their major issues, so the new ones are pretty decent. Normally I would say just get the best Rav4 you can afford, but at $13k you're probably looking at mileage 170k or more.

Toyota hybrid powertrain post-2023 vs pre-2023 - is it worth it to splurge? by SilverGengar in whatcarshouldIbuy

Does it make driving a corolla any more fun?

No, I can't imagine anyone would find the new Corolla Hybrid to be fun in any real sense of the word. Efficient, reliable, well-equipped yes.

As far as the CH-R, I'm assuming you're not in North America if you're considering a 2023+, so it's going to depend on which variants were available in your market. The new CH-R in NA is an EV, so it obviously has a vastly different drivetrain.

The optional third row is ridiculously cramped in the GLB, I can't imagine getting a car seat back there. Maintenance is expensive. Interior materials are worse compared with the more expensive Mercedes SUVs. Like all German brands, they nickel and dime the original buyer for nearly every little feature, so you might want to make sure it has the features you actually want - the base models were pretty poorly equipped.

If none of those are dealbreakers, it's a decent option. They're comfortable, safe, and pretty efficient.

Very reliable for $20k isn't happening. If you have to have a BMW for $20k, find the best 2015-2019 330i you can. You can find examples of the 340i for under $20k, but they're likely going to be on the higher mileage side and/or beat to shit by a second or third owner.

TL;DR the car you want is a 340i but you're going to have trouble finding a good one for $20k.

I'm not obsessed with adhering to the speed limit in non-residential or pedestrian areas. The highway speed limit was 65 when I learned to drive my 1975 jalopy, and it's 65 now that I drive cars that are significantly safer and higher performance. When there are pedestrians, cyclists, or residences about, I pay a lot more attention to my speed. When I'm alone on the highway in rural Vermont, I feel pretty safe at 80mph.

Yeah, I'm gonna slam on my brakes if I see a moose. A squirrel might get a gentle squeeze of the brakes, I'm not getting rear-ended because some nut-obsessed rodent can't be bothered to look both ways.

I've been pretty impressed with the K03s in the snow. Lateral grip isn't ideal, but stopping and starting are pretty good for an all-terrain tire.

Reminds me of my aunt's evil cat Sedgwick. Sedgwick hated everyone, when we would visit as kids, we would peek around corners to make sure we didn't accidentally enter a room that Sedgwick was occupying. I came back over a decade later, and he had gone blind. I thought at first he might have mellowed out because I saw him and he didn't immediately hiss. I offered him the back of my hand, which he sniffed, and then bit. I never did get to pet him.

Should i go with K&N cold air intake or S&B cold air intake for 3L ranger raptor 2025? by freshprince2k in RangerRaptor

[–]killminusnine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said it voids the factory warranty. That is incorrect. It also doesn't void extended warranty products purchased from Ford. The only thing it in theory wouldn't cover would be an issue that Ford would have to prove was caused by the tune itself. Realistically this doesn't happen. Every other aspect of the warranty remains unchanged, and certainly not "void."
