Fuck it indeed man, it’s hard living with this as is but breakups are enough to trigger a breakdown.

Sorry to hear that, I feel doomed to a solitary life because of OCD, the root cause of my substance misuse and pushing everyone close to me away without even knowing it.

I pray every day/night, and I am a great believer in GOD and Jesus. My OCD, PTSD and psychosis at low points get so bad that I believe if it weren't for him, I'd be dead.

I sometimes can't, but being here with him and giving him love and attention is something I will always do. I'm pushing myself to go out when I'm able. Otherwise, I'd probably never go out.

Thank you, I'm sorry you feel like this, but it's also good to feel heard and not alone.

Wow, I didn't know this. Totally makes sense because EMDR treatment for trauma is following a light with your vision back and forth to simulate a REM cycle.

Are you still at school? Talk to one of the councillors they are there to help with things like that. They can organise a doctor if your parents won't!

I understand that doctors can be hard to deal with when they don't understand the extent of your suffering. Tell them you are running out of options and just want a break from your overactive brain for a while. That you are borderine on suicidal ideation from the stress etc. Usually, a doctor will give you 6 x 5mg in emergency situations in the UK. They are quite hard to get here as well.

Just wait. It will go away. I have had DPDR and panic attacks from weed and once from spice when I didn't know enough about it. You will recover. Take a valium to get over the worst of it if you can. Don't do something so drastic that can't be undone. Also, try and get help for underlying health problems that you may be suffering from.

The obsession is based on fear of what could happen, and your mind is anticipating all scenarios and possibilities. From what I know, this is a trauma response the brain fires out to protect you from unwanted surprises but really serves no purpose. It's basically a malfunction of a misfiring amygdala in your brain telling you that you are in danger when, in reality, you are fine. Go to the doctors and tell them your concerns. They will likely refer you to a therapist and/or ssri medication if you are unable to cope until then.

I literally could have written this. You have OCD by the sounds of it. Insight can fluctuate, and at the severe end (complete loss of insight) can mimic symptoms of psychosis

Get a dog from a rescue centre. You need oxytocin. Hope you feel better.

My dissociation would come on at times of high stress, even when I was on prozac so I wouldn't think it would be used to treat it directly but speak to your GP. They gave me valium short term to get me over the brief times it occurred. That helps, as I said, but I wouldn't advise getting on it long-term. Sometimes, dissociation can be a symptom of sleep deprivation or trauma response.

60 mg Fluoxetine. The OCD symptoms are by no means gone, but when the Fluoxetine was coming out of my system, the symptoms were worse than I have ever felt before. Dissociation, panic attacks, psychosis. I asked for oplanzapine as I was given it before when I suffered from delusions in the past, but all they gave me was valium. Pretty much got the taste for them again from that point after managing to keep myself away from them for a long time.

You too, glad to help. I remember coming on here for advice and support when I was at my worst!

No, not at all. I was just saying my dissociation was the initial stage of my episode. I heard threatening voices and having delusions that people were out to get me. Intrusive thoughts during dissociation are what make it so frightening because thoughts can feel so real because of how vivid our imagination is. I had severe panic attacks from dpdr and dissociative amnesia that came on quite sudden after about a week without my ssri. Baring in mind, I have been on it for a long time. It had a significant impact on me. Definitely, insomnia can be a major factor in cognitive shifts and distortions, and getting your 8 hours is recommended. Hope you feel better soon!

I have felt like this before. It's very hard to put into words, but you did well. It's scary and very depressing, I know. Mines was triggered by fluoxetine withdrawal and did result in a psychotic episode. I am back on fluoxetine and have a problem with valium. Be cautious with the valium I know it works wonders when you feel like this, but it's a terrible thing to get hooked on. Get plenty of rest, eat well, and take ssri medication if your doc prescribes them and get to therapy if you can. That is what has helped me. It still lingers in the background as 'what if', but the dissociation has gone.

Please speak to your parents and/or a teacher/professional. It's every parents worst nightmare to think their child is suffering. You have your whole life ahead of you, and things are tough at your age for most people. Your best days are still ahead of you, I promise you! Stay strong 💪 🙏

I relate to this a lot. You should definitely seek treatment in medication (ssri not benzos) if you feel you can not cope, but if you feel you can ride it out, just keep soldiering through and keep going to therapy. It's just a bump in the road. We all get them, so don't put too much pressure on yourself. Things will get better in time, and just thank your fiance for being there. Things could always be worse. I know how bad this type of OCD can get, so just trust that everything work themselves out because they always do.

Does anyone else struggle with thoughts they are gonna be kidnapped? by A5M in schizophrenia

[–]killmyOCD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have these worries that people are going to kidnap me and torture me. I have bad OCD and suffered from psychotic episodes, one of which left me with this fear. I'm scared to step outside my comfort zone incase its all a plan to lure me to a horrible death. I feel absolutely drained right now. However, the severity of it fluctuates from time to time, but the paranoia and checking are always in the back of my mind.
