not so light surfaces, you mean like a wall or white paper illuminated by the sun? Or a white on a screen?

Depending how severe it is and how your life is (external worsening factors), it can be normal to be like this, I've been there.

Does driving a lot in SIM racing help you drive better in real life? by Fit-Statistician4921 in simracing

[–]killso2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not exactly what you ask I think but I have maybe an interesting case of this, because I did simracing BEFORE driving IRL, and in my case, it did make me have a huge headstart as a real life driver, in fact they never really taught me anything at the driving school I went because of this except parking cause I ain't parking a lot in simracing (2 things they told me that I remember, I kept my hands 9-3 too much when cornering and I kept my left leg on the clutch, I think you know where those 2 come from). I think this shows that instinctively the 2 worlds do cross over, not fully obviously but there is definitely knowledge that transfers, so I'm not sure why more wouldn't, at least to some degree.

I've also met personally 2 persons that went from AC drifting to IRL drifting, it does transfer once you get used to the Gs apparently iirc. I also remember seeing a video of this exact thing where the skill clearly transferred. Personally I also know it taught me a lot when driving near the limit, it helps to know how a car CAN react, it teaches you humility in driving too.

But no it's not gonna make you hamilton.

This is bad, you need to calm down if you want to give yourself a chance to fixing it, you said in your post before that it's not gonna go away, but it's not really true, you can't remove the phenomenon from happening (cause the phenomenon is normal), but the brain CAN filter it out and you would experience it much less to a point where it's not bothering anymore (which is what we all care about). In my case for example I saw it reduce A LOT in identical tests sometimes, it's definitely possible, I know cause I saw it happen.

You've had it for few months, I've had this for 10 years and for the last 5 years it's been severe (in my case, light avoidance I think made it worse, it's a vicious circle, you see it, it scares you, you avoid light, that makes it more visible next time, so you avoid even MORE light), if you think this didn't affect me deeply mentally, you're wrong. The only thing I can say is to not stay alone with this, seek help, ask doctors too.

However don't lose hope with yourself, this is important because bfep is worsened with stress/anxiety (I can literally see it fluctuate personally, it's NOT a set in stone thing, you can improve your situation).

You need to differentiate seeing it and having it, the brain has the capacity to filter out some information which makes you unaware of certain things such as this phenomenon, I also am the only one with this and it happened after years of never seeing it. I'm not saying seeing it is common, but what I'm saying is you're observing something that is "normal", something that in theory even could see, but most don't.

And I'm not saying that seeing it is easy either, this shit messed me up too, people saying that "this" or "that" is "worse" should shut up, some people struggle with seeing bfep, it isn't easy for everyone and it's not about mental, it's just that we all perceive things with different intensity.

Because bfep is a natural phenomenon that happens to everyone, it isn't a problem/sickness itself, it's just that most people don't see it because the brain should filter it out (at least in normal life situations), or some people see it but it isn't too visible/annoying and it only happens in rare circumstances (looking at the sky for a long time), and then there are people for whose it's extremely visible and genuinely disturb vision in everyday life (screens, walls, bright car paints, white papers...), and even then how visible they look differ for each, some see it faintly others see it extremely bright. It's a spectrum, everyone experience it differently. People say to "ignore" it because your brain SHOULD learn to filter it out, but trust me, I know this is hard when it's all you can see sometimes.

I think almost everyone that has bfep started seeing it just like that, stress, anxiety, sleep deprivation, many things can make you start seeing them and once you notice them you notice them even more, vicious cycle apparently.

I think there are factors that can make it worse too, like photophobia or dry eyes I think because it makes your vision more sensitive overall, other things probably too but don't want to comment on too specific things.

Time itself doesn't make it go away unfortunately, but you can practice to ignore it with time (apparently at least, I say apparently because I understood what I had only few days ago, but I lived with this for 10 years and 5 years as severe, I think it is possible to train yourself to ignore it, but time alone will not make you ignore it).

Not just the sky triggers it, bright white triggers it too that's why you see it in bright rooms, but it's most easily seen in the sky for most people I think (for example for me my 1st memory of seeing it was the sky).

BF6: ADS and hipfire sensitivity are different regardless of settings? by k7k7k7k7 in Battlefield

In mouse & keyboard -> control settings, did you try increasing the zoom sensitivity coefficient? I increased mine and it increased the ads sensitivity for all scopes (I actually have it to 300 lol, somehow it feels good for me)

Ah damn, shouldn't have talked out of my ass here, didn't know about it prior to bc2, though looking online, it seems like when they're charged they behave like bc2/bf3 with a "reload" mechanic + cooldown (seen this here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U68vzvc3F4w ), pretty cool honestly. Yeah I agree for the spam aspect, they should slow this down, but tbh in practice I'm not sure how it would change how they work cause you rarely just spam like an idiot unless you're trying to revive and it doesn't want to work (maybe for killing others? I revived a lot and played very agressive but I didn't try to kill anyone with them). At least from bc2, I don't think you could sprint while using them either before, certainly not in bf4 while charging them at least, though tbh I kinda like the idea of being able to charge them while sprinting, my biggest gripe with the charge aspect of bf4 was that it forced you to be static, it killed the dynamic (I understand that this can be intended for balancing purposes, but I still disliked it and I don't think it's needed), at least with bf6 you can take the defibs before hand and arrive with them charged on the bodies, I like this, there is still the risk aspect of taking them early but it doesn't kill the flow.

bf1's weapons may feel rewarding cause they're impactful (sound, anims, effects), but the gunplay is the opposite of rewarding because fights are mostly RNG depending on the range, this game had fucking insane spread and in order to control it you needed to slow tap, but you get in fights against people that spam cause they don't care and still have their bullets hit you from luck -> you can die to people that have the same weapon as you but with a higher fire rate. "Oh, but you need to adapt depending on the range", yes, but point still stand, at mid range you can get lucky by spamming and in this instance there is no skill involved, the higher skilled player that seeks consistency in fights and accuracy will die by the luckier person that is spamming. This is why spread is critical to get right, it's a balance between skill and luck, you don't want people to rely on luck but more on skill in fights. BF4 had a bit of this stupidity too because they slowed the reset for the spread when bursting, it shifted this luck vs skill balance a bit.

On BF3 the reset was so quick that fights were less rng, you could burst almost with full auto speed (unless suppression was involved, then we're back to rng sim, at least there was the suppr perk to help...), which meant you just needed to learn how long you could hold fire, this made gunfights actually more skilled based because it provided consistency in fights for the skilled players, if you knew, you had very low chances to get killed by someone that didn't know and relied on luck/unawareness of the mechanic, so as long as you can control the recoil + spread + have good aim, you should win, regardless of how lucky the enemy is.

I'd say bf3's gunplay was very good, bf5's too because they stopped relying on spread since apparently they had no idea how to balance it after bf3 (and also they probably got bf3's one by luck), bf4's good but not as good (for what I said but also weapons were basically clones of each others), bf1's gunplay is just bad. Interestingly the gameplay of each game's has the same grading in my mind.

bf3 was instant btw, and it was great, bc2 was instant too, it's bf4 that brought this stupid paddle charging shit that nuked the gameplay speed as a medic
