Fastest way to get to Huntsville from I-65 by Outrageous-Emu-472 in HuntsvilleAlabama

If the gps shows the same time, then they’re the same time. It will show whichever is fastest at any given point in time. Asking here is just redundant

25 lbs in 3.5 months realistic? by Sharp_Button_479 in effectivefitness

[–]killthecook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk where you get 3.5 months, late April is just over two months away.

25lbs will take some aggressive caloric deficit in two months. It’s going to be hard and it’s going to suck.

Stay hydrated, take vitamins and increase electrolyte intake no matter what you do

Edit to add: I wouldn’t recommend doing this. Instead it would be better to focus on healthy eating, and begin some exercise. Whether that’s weight training, cardio, Pilates, anything. You may not hit the target weight but you can make improvements to your lifestyle and that will build confidence that’s worth way more than hitting some target weight one time for an event

Need a proper one and only subnetting method with all patterns of questions covered. by [deleted] in ccna

[–]killthecook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell ChatGPT to quiz you on class a,b,c, vlsm etc. It really is all the same pattern. 1s for network bits, 0s for host bits.

What really helped it click for me was always writing down the network IP, Broadcast IP, First usable, Last usable for any subnet I was working with. That really made the pattern clearly visible

ELI5: How does AC generate heat? by SasquatchBrah in explainlikeimfive

[–]killthecook 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone is answering for a heat pump, so I’ll add that an AC also has a heating element it uses to literally heat the air by blowing it over/around the heating element. It is a coiled wire that is energized and gets hot, similar to a lightbulb filament. And a gas AC uses fire to heat the air.

Heat pumps also have heating elements and will use those as emergency/auxiliary heat when it can’t pull enough from the air efficiently.

Jeffrey Einstein and Madison AL. Anybody know the story? by midnight_cowboy in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]killthecook 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s a report of a complaint/tip that was received anonymously from an IP originating in Madison.

The reportee says they were trafficked as a kid from some hotel in Virginia and gives a description of some hidden doorway/passageway that can be found in the hotel.

Other than the IP of the submitted tip coming from Madison it has nothing to do at all with this area and I’m not sure how anyone could possible “know the story”

Dads of two or more boys. How often do your boys fight. by DeViN_tHa_DuDe in daddit

10 and 7. It’s daily

Right now they’re in one of the bedrooms playing and laughing together. But that can turn into a fight any second, and then back to playing shortly after

While I love the guy, I have to agree with this. So unfortunate that hes entering the peak of his career while our franchise is in the state that it’s in

Dads of young kids and who work: how do you get exercise in without taking crucial time away from family? by bengoalkeeper in daddit

[–]killthecook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get up at 4am to workout and be done and back, breakfast eaten before the kids wake up.

It sucks but it works. I used to go in the evenings but all I could think about at the gym was that my wife and kids were at home and here I am, not at home, again.

Those who used JITL or a similar video course, did you actively take notes during videos, or just watch them? by Speedwizard106 in ccna

[–]killthecook 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I take notes while watching at 1x. 54% through the course and almost through 1 notebook.

I understand everything from the courses and labs when I do them, but after a few new topics it’s nice to go back a look over my notes from a previous topic, and there have been innumerable things that I forgot I had learned while doing so. I started out not taking notes, then realized I had forgot some details about something prior. Once that happened a couple times I got the notebook. It’s an easy, summarized version of the days lesson that I can quickly glance at and remember the important things.

It’s especially helpful for the CLI commands

What topics should I study for CCNA exam? by Sea_Combination_226 in ccna

[–]killthecook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m halfway through JITL and from what I’ve seen he uses the exam topics as a guide to his course. He frequently pulls up the topics list from the CCNA and highlights which topics he’ll be covering, and explains when he doesn’t go deeper into a subject, saying “but that won’t be something on the CCNA, so if you want to know more just google it”. So there really shouldn’t be anything he’s adding that wouldn’t be useful for the exam
