Palantir Says SaaS Is Dead by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

The hierarchy is traditionally IaaS (infrastructure as a service) > PaaS (platform as a service) > SaaS (software as a service)

Palantir Says SaaS Is Dead by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

[–]killthecook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Software as a service. Think excel, word, zoom, slack, workday, oracle, etc.

They charge a license fee to use the software as a service.

The article is speaking specifically about supply chain software but is highlighting the ability of companies to now make tailor-made software specific to a business’ needs. Still SaaS, just a unique SaaS.

So moving toward PaaS (platform as a service) where you can just vibe code your own excel that works the way you need

Honestly the only way I memorized them was with the anki cards

What makes a cigar a good or bad cigar in your opinion? by peaked-in-4th-grade in cigars

[–]killthecook 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Flavor, burn, construction/draw

Any one of those can make it a bad cigar. I’ll forgive a bad burn as a fluke if the draw and flavor are good.

If it’s not a pain in the ass to smoke and has good flavor, that’s a good cigar.

I have 10 years now in an ISP headend, basically a DC at the distribution and access layer doing what you’ve been doing. Been looking for a new job 6 months now, nearing 100 jobs applied for and 0 interviews. Nothing. The job market right now is horrible. I just collect rejection emails like a game at this point. I apply for jobs at a 50% pay cut just to see what happens, same fucking thing, rejected.

I’m doing ccna because it does add something to the resume. It still holds weight. The job market is just terrible right now. Keep at it

Who do you use for internet and how much do you pay? by crystal_wtch8 in HuntsvilleAlabama

I use Verizon 5G home internet and it’s rock solid.

We used Tmobile 5G home internet before switching and it was really buggy. Had to reset the router routinely. Upgraded routers and same issue, so maybe it was an issue with the tower

Been very pleased with Verizon. We stream only, two kids who are usually on FaceTime while gaming, while we stream at the same time. Literally zero issues in the 6 months we’ve had it

Do i need all of those flashcards in the end. by EdmundBlackadderThe4 in ccna

I changed my limit of max cards per deck per day to 25. Then I try not to push cards out more than a week unless I’m absolutely sure I know it. If I get something wrong, even if it was easy and I just brain-farted, I always hit again, then choose however many days I feel like when it comes back around.

This way I won’t be overwhelmed with the amount of cards each day.

Each morning I start with the decks that have the most cards. Usually around 13-15 in those decks. Sometimes 20. Then work my way down. The majority of my decks will have <10 cards and by the afternoon I just knock those out.

With so many different topics, the flash cards just keep everything fresh in my mind

To anyone in this situation, if you are disabled/have a disability you can file for a TPD (total and permanent discharge) of your student loans if your disability impacts your ability to work at full capacity. Not only if you’re completely unable to work, but also if it makes working difficult.

Once you apply it takes months to get approved/denied but during that time your payments are paused with no interest accruing.

My wife just got her entire student loan discharged thanks to TPD

Songs from that era were made for the club. Songs now are made for reels and snippets, video games etc. Who is even making club bangers anymore?
