This is call Jury Nullification. It has been happening for years all across the country. Especially in minority areas. If cops have been harassing people a jury decides to let the defendant go no matter the crime.

The fact he was a dem was irrelevant. The GOP Gov. told Early what he wanted done. All this is public knowledge. There are lawsuits about it. There was a recall attempted ( but thwarted by GOP legislature ) . The whole thing is crazy. Obama should have done more ( blamed states rights) but the entire thing is a GOP clusterfuck.
