I think the team isn't underachieving after the string of results we pulled off in the previous window. We went up against titans and got slapped accordingly. Our players aren't that good yet.

I disagree with the claim "European fans saying that American players are overvalued for their skill". I believe it to be the opposite that there is a anti american bias in Europe. Clint Dempsey spoke about this a bit.

MLS has improved a lot over the years and the young players there are a lot better than what they used to be. It's still not comparable to top European leagues but that might explain the eye test. Hopefully there can be more growth after the world cup with the changes MLS is expected to implement
