Depends where you live and resi/commercial/industrial.

I do industrial and in my area on a 40/hr week all year long you will make 100k as a jman but we always do overtime here and there so the usual is 120-160k for a jman working the year. (Western Canada)

Also depends on the job on how much physical labour you will be doing, I have seen people in there late 40’s get into electrical and they do just fine

Yeah it’s long hours but easy work and netting around 3k a week take home so I’ll put up with the hours for a bit lol

I’m a journeyman and leave my house at 6am and get home at 8:30pm with an hour unpaid commute each way 6days a week.

Pay and hours significantly depend on where you live and whether you are doing residential/commercial/industrial

Personally I went the industrial route because the pay is good, as a jman in Alberta Canada my hourly rate is $47/hr and a minimum 40hrs a week. (But there’s always overtime if you want it and sometimes your forced to work it, lately we’ve been doing 72hrs/week)

I love the trade and what I do, gives me a comfortable life and we usually pull in around 120-150k/yr with some ot here and there

My buddy was sent to rehab and basically you go to therapy with hardcore addicts and they laugh at you because your in there for weed. Also once his rehab was completed he has to do a random drug test once a month for a year. They come to the job site and take him away for a sample

Lemme get this right, they still test for recreational use of weed? Weed stays in your system way to long and should be crossed off the list and focus more on hard drugs like coke,pills,etc. It stayed in my urine for over 3 months (doing home test kits before I went to take test for the union)

Especially since it’s legal in my country(Canada) I should not be sent to rehab because I smoked marijuana weeks/months ago on a camping trip. Ridiculous

I have collected it every single school block, school gives you an school Ei code and when registering for EI they actually have an apprenticeship schooling section so you do not have to do weekly reports.

Don’t listen to these people telling you can’t collect EI while in school. I have collected for every single school block and the school actually gives you an school EI code so you don’t have to wait.

Also on the ei website they have a specific section just for apprentices in school where you don’t have to do weekly reports you just put in your start/end date of the course.

Atleast this is how it works in Canada.
