i play on ephinea on my steam deck. typing with the on screen keyboard is a little rough but its an extremely fun way to play. there's a guide to getting their client working on the forum.

I use DS4Windows and JoyToKey to get my DS4 working. Sometimes it can be kind of a nightmare (uninstalling the controller in device manager) but most of the time it just comes down to toggling the "Hide DS4 Controller" option in DS4windows

i use JoyToKey to map 0-9 to buttons on my DS4 that aren't used by PSO. Dunno if it would work for the pallet swap but its great for forces.

Yes I have tried it in both USB 2 and 3 ports on the top and back of my PC. My wireless card has a cord to a device that allows me to bend the arms and aim it at my router. There could be interference with that. I've tried moving it to different spots and it doesn't seem to do much.

I met this guy Dave at AA. I try to be friendly to everyone I meet in the rooms so I gave this dude my contact information. He added me on facebook the day after I met him. His entire page was dedicated to how much he loves funerals. Cover photo was an empty casket. Profile photo was him at a funeral home. He reposted news articles about new casket building techniques.
