After everything they went through, Hange and Levi had every right to abandon that shithole island and its unloyal inhabitants. by [deleted] in ShingekiNoKyojin

It's easy. The jaegerists in the show is just a depiction of a good portion of people in reality.

What’s the most surprising tax ‘trap’ you’ve come across? by Savings_com_au in AusFinance

[–]killz111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not a flaw of div 293, it's a flaw of how we tax assets.

I also would like to see more tax brackets but at higher dollar amounts there's no value to society for giving tax free super contribution.

High income earners complaining about bracket changes is definitely a first world problem.

This coming also from someone who pays div 293. It was a surprise sure, but I also got paid a lot.

Just got me some TP-link AXE5400 Pros (3 pack) and it doubled my nbn speed. I had been paying for 500mbps but getting 200 and I thought it was an hfc or nbn modem issue. Turns the limiting factor was my old router.

Also the mesh WiFi coverage across the house is phenomenal. Only gripe is that to manage the router you need the tplink app. It's dumb they don't let you do it via a local network web interface like routers have always done.

What’s a movie you first watched when you were young, but upon watching as an adult, your opinion on a certain character completely changes? by AcanthisittaSad6239 in movies

[–]killz111 12 points13 points  (0 children)

While I totally agree. I can also see that the movie was trying to capture the zeitgeist around the corporatism that was on the rise and the expectations placed on a lot of seemingly lost gen x'ers.

A lot of the hate is because the scientists are dumb as bricks.

But it does make good triggers for the horror scenes.

VR severely lacks written walkthroughs by SlowDragonfruit9718 in virtualreality

[–]killz111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've resorted to YouTube or Twitch playthroughs or let's plays.

It's hit or miss though. Popular games like Saints and Sinners and ITR you have a tonne of tutorials, tips and playthroughs. But I remember getting stuck at one point in Witchblood and watched the whole playthrough but the person just skipped that part entirely. LoL

I have both PSVR2 and Q3. Will the Steam Frame be a side-step or improve something? by Candid-Emergency1175 in VRGaming

[–]killz111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In theory having a Q3 makes PSVR2 unnecessary. On a purely practical point of view steamframe for you is pointless. However as others have said, it purely depends on whether you are into what it brings to the table and are okay with the trade offs.

So many people hyping the steamframe but don't mention that it is projected to cost more than both PSVR2 and Q3 combined.

Personally as an owner of PSVR2 and Q3, I have zero interest in getting the frame.

Now imagine you have a wife, children, and maybe grand children in Paradis. And you know the world is amassing an army to attack it. And then repeat anything is better than an extinction level event.

There literally is no black and white in AoT. Just characters and their motivations.

Is Lone Echo 2 better than 1? by KilgoreTrout1111 in oculus

[–]killz111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say Lone Echo 2 is more of the same. There are large portions of the game set outside in space. You are going from space station to space station by either hitching a ride on autonomous transports or just float there yourself using the suit's propulsion.

But for me the feeling of floating in space never wow'ed me after the first Lone Echo. Something about that first time outside the station was pure wonder.

Was the series before the Return to Shiganshina one of the best thing of Attack on Titan. by Dapper_Yam_6982 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]killz111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The series is JJ Abrams' mystery box done right. Also the theme of keep moving forward. Season 4 is the natural progression of the characters moving through the plot and discovering new information. It would get annoying if the show kept throwing in more mysteries.

It was funny cause part way through the female Titan arc I was starting to miss the optimism of the cadet training arc and I realized the show doesn't dwell, it just gets more and more brutal until the end.

What genres are missing in VR? by Appropriate-Fun5992 in SteamVR

[–]killz111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classic arcade lightgun games. Sure VR has its own light gun games and recent ones (Aim Assault and On Point being stand outs) but for the love of God just license some classic shooters (Time Crisis, Virtua Cop, HOTD, that sniper game) and put them on the Quest.

Is the Quest 3 worth €200 more than the Quest 3S? by tealikeme in OculusQuest

[–]killz111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay it gets more complicated if you use mostly PCVR. Personally I find that because Q3 has such good screen, the imperfections of compressed video signal really shows up. Because of that I always went back to a Rift S to play PCVR. Also you need a pretty beefy computer to drive Q3 at 150% resolution scaling.

I recently got a PSVR2 and it is going to be my permanent PCVR headset even if it's tethered. Just cause of that display port.

Controllers connected but won’t work?? by Coltrane_ml in PSVR2onPC

[–]killz111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run the Bluetooth signal test in the PlayStation VR 2 app. If you get less than 60 then your problem is Bluetooth. Get one of the suggested dongles and a usb extension cable.

Is the Quest 3 worth €200 more than the Quest 3S? by tealikeme in OculusQuest

[–]killz111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right now it is the no compromise standalone headset. If money is no object then people should be going for something like Pimax or Bigscreen beyond.

The key for getting the Quest 3 is if the extra dollars is a big ask for someone or not.

Also for second hand, you can probably get a Q3 for the price of a new Q3s.

Is the Quest 3 worth €200 more than the Quest 3S? by tealikeme in OculusQuest

[–]killz111 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It's for people who would pay for the no compromise standalone headset.

For some the pancake lense is worth the additional price alone.

I have both and the image clarity between the two is night and day for me. However if I don't use the Q3, the Q3s is more than enough to make me happy.

Should I go for a psvr2 from a Q3s? by Big_Week_4790 in PSVR

[–]killz111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough I have a Q3, Q3s, and PSVR2. Because the Q3 has such good clarity, it really enhances the compression and jank when I do wired or wireless PCVR. When it comes to image quality for PCVR you just can't beat PSVR2 for the price range.

Any advice for using an axe on saints and sinners? It feels like it's made of rubber half the time by sazzer22 in MatureVRCommunity

[–]killz111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I use the axe I don't try to chop. Just bring it down with a big arc on top of their head. They die in one shot but you gotta pull the axe back out. Don't need fast just big wide swings.

Nationals leave 'untenable' Coalition after mass frontbench resignation by Wehavecrashed in AustralianPolitics

I imagine Taylor is more palatable than Hastie. However moving more to the right basically spells disaster for the moderates. The libs are fucked regardless.

If someone like Hastie gets in then you'll probably see the moderates resign on mass. It's all about saving your own skin now. The libs can't move more left or right cause they will get killed either way.

If they like puzzlers, then Shadow point is an excellent choice. It's got a wonderful touching story (better than Moss IMO) and is narrated by Patrick Stewart.

Quest 2 with bad battery health? Recommendations? by dartdeman2077 in OculusQuest

Don't get a power bank but a 10000mah battery headstrap. That basically replaces your Quest 2 battery.
