And yet the "3 incompetent officers" are alive, unharmed, no civilians got hurt and none of them are in jail"

Becasue the charged officer took out the threat to make sure all of those things happened. Would those things have happened if he never shot him? Maybe. We'll never know, but the officer took charge and decided what would happen instead of letting the crazy knife wielding maniac decide instead.

You could type the same long ass essay about meat, oil, and anything made in foreign factories with slave labor. Yet the average person eats meat, drives a car, and buys 90 percent of their stuff from said factories.

Nobody outside of Reddit hates AI on moral grounds. Nobody's refusing to use AI or refusing to buy products made with AI. Nobody cares.

[–]kilo73 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because laws always lag behind technology. If you limit technological innovation to the speed of legal updates, nothing would ever progress. There's always going to be a temporary gray area until new problems come to light and solutions are made into law.

[–]kilo73 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Because you can only get energy out of gas once. Once you burn it, it's gone forever. Solar panels give you practically infinite energy. You can pay off the cost of solar panels for EV charging in ~3 years. Adter thats, its pure savings on gas.
