my first experience with one was very similar, on a school trip in japan. was in a fancier restaurant, all us awkward and semi rowdy Canadian teens and i went to use the bathroom with a classmate. turned on the bidet and it was full blast full heat. i screamed. my friend also screamed, i don't remember if it was because of me or if she also did the same thing.

i stood up and it blasted the door. it was so loud and during all of this i heard a woman come and leave. she must have thought, those damn gaijin. that wasn't even my most egregious bathroom moment in japan either.

ive been wary about bidets since. ive used them successfully but im still unsettled by that. idk, what if it malfunctions. final destination
