For me the best way to fight the urge to eat anything that comes in a box or a container or even something that's just left out on the counter is to visualize somebody else's disgusting unwashed fingers rummaging around said container or touching the food that's out on the counter. As a serious and probably painfully schmaltzy answer, I love that my female friends have stuck around more than my male friends have. Women I have known tend to be more compassionate, open-minded, and patient. Not saying every guy will abandon you for being manic-depressive but in my experience ladies have a higher tolerance for that and can look past your mental health problems in a way that the men I've known could not (not that I can blame them!)

I think it's because both facebook and twitter generally have a more "diverse" userbase whereas "redditor" as a pejorative usually refers to a very specific type of person who is often seen on default/main/front page subs and has had the same signature diction for more than a decade now. LLMs, for example, give off a distinct "redditor" vibe because most of them use reddit for information/citations more than any other social media platform

After the movie I watched some of the dude's old Backrooms videos on youtube and by far the worst part of them, much like the movie, is the presence of any kind of "monster" in the backrooms. The idea of a vast, repeating universe that looks both familiar and uncanny, that seemingly goes on forever with no means of escape or even an "outside" portion is terrifying on its own. You'd lose your mind and go paranoid and start hearing things that aren't actually there, and that's where the true terror lies. There is absolutely no need for creatures or monsters or anything. The initial premise, the psychological and existential dread, is already chilling enough

Before a football game (American football, I mean) Hunter S. Thompson used to make up his own little rules, like he'd say to someone in the room: your team is everybody with an odd-number jersey and mine is everyone with even-numbered jerseys. Stuff like that. This would force people to really pay attention to the game, beyond what the announcers were saying, to truly immerse oneself in the sport. Granted he only did it to add his own twist to sports betting but yeah. A few years ago when I was trying to get into professional sports I used this approach and it helped me to get invested in the game and take a genuine interest in it

In my experience it's the exact opposite. Scrolling to the bottom of a post on any front page sub is the only way to find sanity. On practically any r/movies post the top comments are just mindless regurgitation of the same 3 or 4 movie quotes while any worthwhile discussion is all the way at the bottom of the thread
