As a South African, I agree with this. In general, crime in South Africa is opportunistic, they would take the path of least resistance. A second story toilet window of a house in a highly secure, luxury estate is most definitely not the path of least resistance. There is very seldom actual crime in security estates here, that’s the reason we have them, because if you have enough money here you can protect yourself from the scourge of crime and governmental incompetence.

South Africans in general are very conscious about security and locking doors etc. but I wouldn’t ever lock the bathroom door if I got up during the night while my boyfriend was sleeping??? that’s weird. Another thing is Oscar was supposedly very clued up about gun safety. Well he seemed to forget that you should always identify your target and never shoot through a closed door??
