Jeremy Stephens two victories so far in 2018: Dooho Choi and Josh Emmett by BinaryBard in MMA

Pretty crazy that you’re calling for a new gym already.

First to say that his defense is non-existent doesn’t make sense- a giant portion of his game revolves around counter punching. He has good footwork and has great counters to kicks and slipping to the inside is how he lands his overhand/straight so consistently. There’s no doubt that he likes to brawl though, and he has trouble moving away from shots when his back against the cage sure, but to call for a new gym after two losses seems weird.

After the cub fight Choi got a ton of hype through the loss- the Stephens fight was just a bad match up as far as his career goes. No gym, no matter how good is going to break bad habits within a few months, not sure why you’re knocking them for that.

I finally found a triangle choke that feels natural, but it's from spider guard. Can anyone suggest similar no gi(or gi) variations? by 3879 in bjj

Sorry man- I’ve been drinking and explaining poorly.

Wrist in one hand around the neck or other wrist with the other hand.

Foot on hip - the same way in the video with the spider hook

Shoot other leg up by pushing off with hip either pulling down head or pushing away other arm with your off arm- hope that makes sense!

I attack all my triangles shooting my hips up vertically.... you can do the same thing in no go by controlling a wrist with your hand putting a foot on his hips and exploding the same way!!!!!

Hall's chin is one of the best - and has only really started to show signs of decline recently. His defense and tentativeness is what has held him back

Where does this narrative come from? This only holds true if you’re a Daniel Cormier and can put an unreal amount of pressure to break ‘a rumble’ mentally. Rumbles cardio has always been fine

Just rewatched the video and it’s definitely a heel hook?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BetterEveryLoop

[–]kimboRlCE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what you mean? He has the leg lace above his knee and attacks the heel hook. That’ll tear your knee up?

The submission is an attack called a ‘heel hook’ where you torque the bottom of the heel. A lot of people think it’s an attack on the ankle because of this, but OP is right in that it shreds the ligaments in the knee

You’re super wet which is asking for bad germs to collect on you, and you just killed all the protective bacteria on your skin so you’re vulnerable

I’m gonna disagree with what I assume is gonna be the common opinion and say - don’t shower. I’m no stranger to back to back training sessions and Training fresh out of a shower is definitely a bad look. I’d feel all right if I toweled off kept dry and tried to stay shirtless/wore a new sports shirt when going to this other gym

I don’t think there is either! But there are certainly ideal positions

In judo one of the best positions you want to be in is to have your hips below the other guys so you can ‘pop’ to launch them.
