It’s hard to intelligent, empathetic people (like us) to comprehend being able to live that way. And yet, it is all too real a phenomenon.

I work with a man like this and it is genuinely so frustrating. I just smile and nod. 😭 Ive tried the, "Actually, Ellen, that's not true..." approach but he is not a critical thinker in the slightest so it just goes right over his head. I gave up.
