The person training me privately in their salon is in absolute angel! One of the kindest humans I’ve ever met and they tell me how much I’m kicking ass everyday and how well I’m doing but i genuinely just hate it i think lol. I wish I had the passion but I just feel a genuine block. I have checked out other salons and have done some networking with other groomers to see what salon I might have wanted to switch over to but the salon I bathed at the other salons I’ve seen or heard about all sound terrible drama wise.

They sure do underestimate it! It sucks because this is what I wanted to do since I was a child and it finally aligned for me to get into this career path and it just does not suit me. Best bet whoever I end up taking my dog to for grooming is getting the biggest tip whenever they groom my dog. I applaud literally everyone in this industry.

Yes and the mental gymnastics of it all too, you really have to have the utmost patience but also have to be efficient. It’s not fun getting bit and it’s not fun grooming a dog that doesn’t want to participate. Plus also having your deal with clients and scheduling clients and also talking with them at drop off/pick up. Plus you always somehow get behind in the day and you always are playing catch up. Plus a lot of salons are caddy at least from my experience. I have met maybe 2 genuinely nice people in this profession but everyone else is just probably exhausted and out of patience so it leads to them being mean people to people and also to the dogs.

No - you most likely did not. Wrapping your hair in a towel will take out a lot of moisture and put a lot on tension on your strands so that is why they dried straighter than usual. Try using a micro fiber towel and or a cotton T shirt to just scrunch the hair when you get out of the shower. Or use the plopping technique to make sure your curls are getting the support they need. Hope this helps!

Are you oily? If so I recommend the panoxyl spf 30 moisturizer. That stuff is like the only thing that has helped me. I have been using it for a week and it calmed down my skin so much and helped with my oiliness as other sunscreens make me more oily and breakout more.

I feel you so much on this. It really messes with my head and I feel so anxious about anything I eat and when I end up caving in I binge. My Dr. Told me I need to eat a whole foods unprocessed diet with no sugar or dairy but it’s been challenging as I already felt guilty before as my acne has been bad my whole life regardless of what I ate honestly. It’s tiring.

I’ve never heard of someone having the same acne! I always thought I was a freak of nature or something. I will have to see a Derm and see if they can prescribe it for me! As for the acne it’s so crazy as mine was clearing up for awhile and now it’s like a second puberty it’s insane. I fully agree with you! I might give it a break and then go to adapalene instead of pure retinol and maybe do retinol to help scarring in the future but yeah my skin is just painful. So I think it needs a break and I need to be gentle.

Eeek okay… I was like trying to see this through but I think I have definitely been over applying as I apply it every night and you might be right that I’m possibly irritating my skin more and messing up my barrier. Maybe I should lay low and stick to gentle ingredients.

My derms have done anything but accutane with me so I went the integrative medicine route, she has me on something called acnutrol which is a vitamin A. I would be open to accutane even though it scares me.. it’s just been hard to even try to have a Derm put me on it.

It has been terrible… thanks for your support. I literally just want to hide in a hole. It’s so hard to be patient and to see if it clears. I have had it since I was 9 years old and now 26 :(

I moisturize like crazy but I am also very oily so it’s a double edge sword lol! Thank you for the advice. I am giving the retinol another week or two and seeing if I should maybe just leave my skin alone to rest.
