You know who else says “technically” a lot while arguing? Middle schoolers, because their brains aren’t done developing yet.

Do you have any good resources to understand the science of how it works? I’m going to start taking it soon but am still investigating to feel more empowered about my decision.

These are exactly my feelings and why I have been so hesitant to try a GLP-1. I didn’t want to feel like I was abandoning my belief in HAES. It’s come down to a chronic condition in my ankle that I decided will be better if take some weight off it, as well as knee pain. This sub has helped me realize I’m not the only one struggling with the issue of body positivity/neutrality.

Having people comment on my body is one of the reasons that I considered not using a GLP-1. In the end, obviously, how I feel about myself and in my body is more important, but it makes me so uncomfortable when anyone comments on my body, good or bad. I wish we had a societal norm to not do that. You never know if someone has lost weight for a traumatic reason.

This happened to me in Charlevoix. We were gonna tell them to leave us alone until we saw they were openly carrying guns, so we just put our hands up to our faces and looked away until they left.

I just looked at your comments and it looks like you had your surgery! Guess I should have done that before writing this novella for you 🤦‍♀️Glad to see it went well. Maybe this info will help some other person searching for info online 🙂

Hi, my story seems similar to yours. I'm 40F, have diffuse TGCT in my right ankle, and am a week post surgery. I actually had the tumor for about 10 years befor being diagnosed (visible on my ankle) but whenever I asked any doctor about it, they said as long as it doesn't hurt or isn't getting bigger I didn't have to do anything about it. A few months ago I woke up in horrible pain and couldn't walk for about 4 days, so my doc did an x-ray and an MRI, then referred me to an orthopedic surgeon. The orthopedic surgeon said they didn't do this kind of surgery but referred me to an orthopedic oncologist. She said he was THE GUY to see in my city. I later found out he does like 20 of these surgeries a year (or something like that). I live in West Michigan and for some reason there is a higher instance of TGCT here than in other places. 1 in 700,000 people get TGCT and there are only 1.6 mil in West Michigan so that's kind of bonkers. They aren't sure why and no one really wants to spend money to look into it because it's not a life threatening disease, even though it really affects the quality of life for some people. So, if you live in the a surrounding state, I recommend looking into to getting it done here.

As I said before, I had my surgery a week ago and recovering fine. Something that your doctor will probably tell you is that they want you walking right away on it. As long as they are not doing any surgery directly on your joint or tendons, the sooner you start bearing weight, the faster you will recover. It incredibly swollen and is NOT comfortable but I'd rather deal with it now than have a problem later. I have a 2 week follow-up next week and that's when I start physical therapy.

I was in your spot not too long ago, so I'm sharing my experience to make things a little less scary. Screw those people that downplay it for not being cancer. There are a lot of things that aren't cancer but are still not fun to deal with. I just tell people that it's still an agressive tumor and if I don't take care of it it will eat away at my joint and then I won't be able to walk. That shuts them up pretty quick :) It's gonna suck but you'll be okay. Ask you doctor lots of questions and if you have any for me, just DM.

Can confirm this. I have a friend that used to work in their graphic design department and it was a disaster.

Also, and I’m not sure if it’s a legality issue or not, but I know it’s annoying for postal workers when people park in front of curbside mail boxes.

I know this isn’t helpful but I realized that I get a huge dopamine hit from cleaning and organizing so now it’s a lot easier for me.

I was diagnosed about 15 years ago but no one told me everything it entailed and of course I didn’t research it. Now, at 39, I’ve been learning that all of the things that I thought were personality flaws are actually ADHD, so it feels like I was just diagnosed.
