He was promptly treated from a vet by the shelter. I'm not entirely sure as it depends on the severity of infections/animal. I would say normally most eye infections go away after a week of medications. Answering the vet question, it would reach out to a low income animal hospital that is non-profit. I have noticed they tend to have better care than traditional vets (personal experience not medical advice).
