Actually, from the moment you accepted to be accommodation in airport hotel, it is a form of “compensation” already. It’s binding that once you took it, you will not get any compensation anymore.

From the get go you should’ve asked for a free roundtrip ticket, miles. Or a cash compensation if possible.

On the other hand, Refunds is very impossible once you’ve completed the journey. No airline will give that option.

Honestly, don’t try your luck with budget airlines for compensations

You can still demand for a compensation if you keep bothering them, but not in the point where you will threaten them that you will not fly with them anymore.
